Getting stuff into Canada without taxes or duty

What are the ways that you can get stuff into Canada without paying duty?

I need suggestions.. Nothing illegal, just something a little more pricey if shipped through customs.

duty and taxes when you cross the border, i know you can have them shipped, but usually you have to prove you live there, but if you get them shipped as a gift, it's not

I meant drive 'em across with them on the car, then they're just part of your transport, surely they won't know that they weren't on there when you crossed over to the states.

Depends on what you drive down, usually just throw them in the vehicle with you, depends on the size of rims too, or better yet, bribe the **** who looks at your vehicle

Yes, bribing a customs official is probably the smart way to go...

I can't see the duty on a set of rims being enough to pay off a customs guy anyway but even if it were then what happens if you get a customs guy who is not crooked?

Personally I would prefer the option of having them installed in the US and then driving your car back. Keep in mind, you leave having a US border officer, and come back with a completley different Canadian border officer - so there is 0% chance you will get the same guy on re-entry.

Unless I am mistaken, if the rims are made in the USA, you'll only have to pay GST on them and no import duty. Or so says "free trade"...

Personally I'd have them shipped near the border and would drive down with crappy rims and have them installed down there and donate the crappy rims to the guy who does the install. Then just drive back happy as a clam.

Actually they take a picture of your license plate, and Homeland Security / Canadian Border Security (whatever there called) have there own seperate files

they don't cross-reference photo's 'in the event you bought rims' - it's really only used to refer to persons of interest and to help battle the drug trade
