how much injectable b-12 to take?

well, searched the threads and didn't get anything consistent, so wanted to see what you guys typically dose this stuff at. right now, i take multi's that have b-12, but saying as that stuff isn't absorbed very well, i'm not even taking it into consideration.

from what i've heard so far, 1000mcg taken once a week should be sufficient, but i've also heard of people dosing this stuff up to as much as 2000mcg a day. so what i'm wondering is how much do most of you feel the need to take to get what your body needs, and at what point did it just become overkill and stop improving the energy, appetite, etc? thanks in advance.

For me personally I see no benefit to B-12 injections unless you have a b-12 deficiency. Even then 1000mcg/2 wks is plenty.JMO

I will be using .5ml (500mcgs) ED at the end of my cycle to cut with another compound. I have tried 1000mcgs to "practice" injecting and had energy all day long, so I would say ther are benifits of it. You do have to watch the total you take. Too much is a bad thing, but I dont' have the info here on how much is too much.....I will search

Never saw much of a benefit of taking B-12 at 1000 mcg ED. In fact I shouldn't say not much...more like nothing at all that I could tell.

How much B-12 to take? Zero.

Seriously tho, unless you are clinically deficient and oral supplementation does not resolve it or you are cutting other AAS, its a waste.

Extreme dosing of B-12 can actually damage nerves. So, as always, dont think more is better.

just like in here, i've heard many mixed reviews as to if this stuff really helps increase energy levels or not. however, i do know it's used to treat chronic fatigue and is proven to be effective in most cases.

i've never heard of the nerve damage you mentioned mike, but i do know in clinical trials they have gone up to 5000mcg eod, so i would assume it should take far more than that to do the damage.

i personally find myself run down a lot of the time, despite me getting enough sleep and certainly eating enough. it's probably cause of all the stuff i'm trying to juggle at once, but if my active lifestyle is simply burning out all my b-12, hopefully this is a way to help it get back to normal. i also know some people simply don't absorb much of the oral form and actually need the injectable to get a sufficient amount of b-12. the average oral absorption is 10%, but some people only absorb as little as 1%.

from what i've read, this stuff doesn't really have a toxicity level, so i would like to know more info about the nerve damage concerns and where this info can be found? as far as taking too much, i'd just rather not waste money taking more than i really need to, but i guess it's very dependent on the person from reviews so far.

i have heard however that this stuff is supposed to help neural adaptation to training, and considering when i overtrain it's from cns overload (as opposed to muscular), i figure it might help prevent that by helping my nervous system adapt more efficiently.

at this point, i think i'll be starting with 1000mcg twice a week and see how that treats me. figure it can't hurt to try it, at least not at that kind of dose, and if it doesn't do anything for me, at least i know.

b-12 at any dose will not harm as it desolves in water not like the other vit that desolves in fats but ur body will absorb the needed dose only so more is not better

I used to think the same bro. You can definently still overdose on water-soluble vitamins. I have done it and my doctor confirmed it. I believe the nerve damage incurred by b12 can be repaired after discountining intake.

hey bro, you did. you were the above-mentioned suggestion for 1000mcg once a week. i didn't forget about you, and the advice was much appreciated. just after checking other peoples doses, it seemed very varied, so i just wanted to get some more opinions on the subject to make sure i was doing the optimum amounts, but not overdoing/wasting it. nothing personal, i just always try to cross-reference information. trust me, i hold your suggestions in very high regard bro.

only reason i'm starting with double what you suggested is because it seems that a dose of 2000mcg a week will certainly not be hitting the danger area, and i'd rather start with a higher dose to make sure if it's gonna work, i'm gonna notice it. if i do notice anything, then i will decrease my dose down after a while and see what dose i can lower to where it's still just as effective. who knows, may not make any difference at all. but for the $20 i spent on the bottle, it was worth a try, right?
