I was listening to this guy at the gym who says he never really worries about small air bubbles because he's injecting into muscle not veins. How strict are you guys on bubbles...some...a couple...none?

A few air bubble's wont hurt you on A IM shot.
Takes A whole lota air IV to do any damage.
I always point the pin right side up and give it a good couple of taps just cuz that's the way I was taught. When you pull the stopper back to see if there's any blood you will always pull back bubbles anyway unless you pull back blood
There are always a few hard solid bast*rds that wont budge!![]()
Wouldnt worry about it.
I purposely put some air in with every injection, that way I dont waste a single drop of whatever Im shooting. It will not harm you in any way at all.
Alittle is fine, aslong as you aspirate.
I always add 1/4 cc air. it is something you learn in nursing school also. It is so you get the most med and leave very little.
never thought of that.....I always thought the juice left in the pin was just the way it is
Takes more than 5cc's of air directly into your vein to cause an embolism. The other day when my doctor was injecting my anesthesia there were tons of air bubbles in the solution, and that puppy was going straight into a vein in my arm. I asked him about it and he told me it took even more than 5cc's of air to cause a life threatening embolism. So, with minor bubbles going into your muscle, you're just fine...
Thanks guys.

Very interesting... I always knew that you needed over 1cc of air into a vein to cause problems... but never thought of putting a little in the syringe to minimize gear loss... Pretty smart... cause if you are injecting every other day and going through two 20cc bottles over the course of 12 weeks or whatever... I bet thats at least 1cc wasted ...Originally Posted by novicenovicen
Your actually not pulling back bubbles. What you are doing is creating a vacuum when you aspirate and the liquid actually expands the tiny air bubbles that are already in the syringe. Essentially you are expanding the bubbles to a size that is visible to the naked eye. Then when you begin the inject, the bubbles once again become microscopic at the normal pressure.Originally Posted by taiotosh7
I agree...it would take 3cc or more directly in2 the vein 2 cause problems...dont worry about a few here and there
just shoot that sucker up lol
I'ts impossible to avoid a little air.
it takes 5cc's of air INTRAVEINOUS to kill you.. firstly ur using a 3cc syringe secondly ur shooting intramuscular. i dont see ANY possible way of killing ur self.. no MATTER how HARD you try
No offense Tia, but suicide was never the issue.LOL.
I'm not looking to even come close, but thanks for the stats.

i wonder how much it would hurt injecting a cc or 2 of air into your muscleJUST AIR
WOW this was very valuable information for me! Thanks a lot! So this means we shouldn't worry about those expanded bubbles at all.Originally Posted by Oki-Des
whoa, so have a lil albeit tiny cc of air in your dart so you get the most med! Takes notes down, you guys are awesome.
* smooshes your head on my chest * much luv
GAHHHHhh HOW COME no one EVER pickss up on my SARCASM! ><Originally Posted by GoldieTheMack
Shit, I been waisting some HGH then in the process of trying to eliminate all the bubbles!!! what an ass I am!!!
Any way I remeber that when I was a kid some one said thats shooting air was very dangerous, I must hve created a big impresion on me.
Good to know, now I wont waist the valuable liquid.
i once injected about 1/2 a cc of air into my muscle, and called a friend of mine who is a doctor> he told me that nothing will hapen< the worst would be an infection in the injection site
This advice is PRICELESS! Thanks Bino!!!Originally Posted by C_Bino

i'll keep this in mind next time i inject!
Damn - this is one of those threads where you learn something that can help everyone. Bino's technique of adding a little air is something I will start doing this week. We all hear about air bubbles will kill you, but it sounds like that statement is overused and difficult to actually have happen. 5 cc's? If that's true I don't know how anyone could ever make a mistake like that!![]()
