How long does it usually take for ones Red Blood count (hemoglobin, Hemacrit etc) to go back to normal after a cycle? all my lab work is normal except for RBC...mine is high and I need to get it lowered, how effective is it donating blood to lower it?

Try and eat less red meat also.

If you want to lower them immediatly donate blood.
How high was your rbc count?

My rbc was high, I donated blood and now good to go. There is also a process where they take just the rbc and put everthing else back..so they can take double the amount of rbc with this method. Your iron value has to be 40 though. Hell give blood...its good for you and for someone else.

RBC = 6.30 referance range is 4.20 - 5.80
Hemoglobin = 18.4 referance range is 13.2 - 17.1
Hematocrit = 55.6 referance range is 38.5 - 50.0

Giving blood will fix the problem.

55.6% is a little higher than what you'd want normally but shouldn't be too harmful so long as you keep (very) well hydrated. It will drop naturally over the next couple of weeks but donating blood will give you a quick fix.
BTW - what wwas your cycle that got your RBC that high?

In the past ive had some big problems with my RBC, for the body to put everything correct with the blood it takes 100 days, if its at a high level give blood and take a low dose of aspirin

after getting off cycle I am noticing pain on middle right abdomen and rear.(by waist side)..could RBC have anything to do with it?

As you know pain is your bodies way of saying "hey". Pain in the midsection which persists for several days or worsens should be checked out asap. In that area are your liver, and one of your kidneys. Don't mean to be an alarmist...hell you might be constipated....but just coming off cycle etc..I'd have the doc take a look. Good luck.

cat scan done, urine and blood, all ok except the rbc is high...but pain is like when you are dehydrated, i drink and piss all day but pain is there . started about 1 week after end of cycle and had it for 2 weeks.

Marcus - what kind of problems? Clotting? I had a DVT a couple years ago I believe from RBC - so I am donating blood and using asprin.

what if you can't donate do to "past viral exposures? " i have been taking a low dose gel and my rbc and hemacrit went up pretty high in a month

Well, you could start by not bumping 6 year old threads
The average life of a RBC is 120 days.
So it will go down on its own after a few months.
But you can also look into therapeutic phlebotomy.
How high is yours?

the hemotologist said it was pretty high.. but he 'cant treat me becasue of insurance issues"

HOLY SHIT THAT'S HIGH!!! I'd be slashing my wrist over a sink right now in your position. But seriously, since your doc is being a douche: just got to a bloodbank, lie, donate, then mention that you have hepatitis or whatever on your way out the door. They have special forms for this, and you can normally cancel your donation online shortly after the fact, as well.

he isn't my dr.. he was meeting with me for free to advise me on some autoimmune testing i needed to have- special forms?
i will try to get a order from my endo tmrw or thursday and go...
