Question Do you guys change to a powerlifting rountine completly??!!

Do you guys change to a powerlifting rountine completly once in a while??

I got this from the animalpak site, they give weekly tips, this is what they said

"Plan a powerlifting cycle of 6-8 weeks every year where you can focus on low rep maxes to stimulate new power and growth."

How many people do this?? Do you go up in strength then when you go back to your regular bodybuilding rountine do you start gaining mass??

my training routine incorperates strength training as an integral part of my workout.as i work down from higher reps to lower reps through an 8 week cycle the weight increases each week so i end up with low reps heavy weights, although strength training and bodybuilding are different in some ways they are part and parcel of everyones routine, you need strength to increase weights and to grow,so going low and heavy every so often can be very productive,it can get you through plateus and also recrute different muscle fibres which are not taxed enough with high reps.

yea same with me, i never thought about changing completely to a powerlifting routine for 6-8 weeks, but i do low reps for my last sets

i just go to animalpak.com once in a while and read their weekly tips cuz they give good ones and they said you should cycle a powerlifting cycle, just wanted to see how many people do this and if it helps you gain mass faster.

I have tried the low rep stuff, but it just doesn't work very well for me.

i only go low and heavy for a week two at the most as it puts too much stress on my joints and i dont want to run the risk of injury,a bodybuilders worst nightmare.

im getting heavy right now, once ive done next week i will spend a full week resting and eating before rackin up the high reps.

About 4 months out of the year

I do power lifting only about four months of the year mainly because I can do "less" in the gym. When I have little time to train, I focus on squats, clean and press, deads, and bench. That's pretty much it and that keeps my strength constant at least.
