I feel like when things are going bad in my life and i am depressed (ex. bad breakup) I don't want to work out. It gets really hard to be motivated to look good when I feel so crappy i guess. Now you would think this is when I would really want to motivate myself and do something good for myself and pick myself up off the ground....Shouldn't a hot body be some good motivation?!
However, when things are great in my life and I'm happy and content, THAT'S when I work out.
The catch 22 to this is...when i'm already feeling bad, i'm not working out so my body starts to not look as hot and then I feel even worse.
Just curious to know if anyone else ever goes through the same thing and if so what do you do to motivate yourself?
Same here. When I'm depressed I cannot eat and when I don't eat I don't want to train. The less I eat and train the smaller I get, the more depressed I get. A very negative circle.
You have to get to a point and check yourself and get back into the swing of things. I gave myself a time limit to grieve then told myself no matter what I'm eating and going to the gym. The more I ate and worked out the better I felt about myself, end of depression.
