7 days a week is way too much. you can get everything in 4 days bro. i do

    mon - chest/tri's
    tues - off
    wed - back/bi's
    thurs - off
    fri - shoulders
    sat - legs

i usually do my cardio sessions in the AM or on my "off days"...i make sure i get it in atleast 3-4times per week.

your goin to have to reveal a lot more info. if ur working out your whole upper body everyother day thn it mite be over training, it might not. depends on the intensity of your workouts and what muscles ur exercises focus on. if ur sore from ur previous workout, you shouldnt be working those muscles out again. of course if your not sore thn your probly not working hard enuf by my standards. What exercises are you doing each day? how many sets? I suggest a completely diff training split in order to really focus on the growth of each muscle group. there are many diff training styles and right now i'm on a 5 day split:
    shoulders, calves
    back, traps
    off day
    quads, hams
    chest, calves
    off day
    bi's, tri's

but you may want to look around the board for other suggested splits, to see wht works best for you. I will often throw cardio into my off days.

If you are working out 7 days a week, you are over doing it and won't get anywhere. Your body needs rest! Thats when it grows and recovers.

Working out is important but dieting and rest are just as important!

    Post your full workout regimen.

WOW, this small thread is opening my eyes up. I hope we can continue this for a minute longer. BIGLOUIE, so you do cardio three to four times a week. How long do you do your cardio for?

Must a person do AM cardio, then go back to the gym later in the day for weight training??
OR, can I start my weights and end with cardio while going to the gym only once in the day??

Is this cardio regimen of 3-4 times a week for bulking or cutting? Or, does it matter?
Also, do you do your core muscles(abs, lower back)? TNKS

Write out your full workout. Monday you work out what? Tuesday? etc.
In my opinion, thats too many reps for shrugs but if it works for you OK, for me they grow with lower reps.

My workout right now looks like:

(I might have miised a few things)
Monday :: Back (Chin ups, Rows, Bentover Rows, Dead Lifts)
Tuesday :: Chest / Triceps (Incline, Flat, Flies, Dips, Scull Crushers, Overheads)
Wednesday :: Biceps / Forearms (Preachers, Alternates, Concentration Curls, Wrist Curls, Reverse Wrist Curls)
Thursday :: Legs (Squats, Leg Press, Leg Extention(2 sets of each) Hams, Seated Calve Lifts, Smith Calve Lifts)
Friday :: Shoulders / Traps (Military Press, Laterals, Rear Laterals, Front Raises, Barbel Shrugs, Seated Behind the back close grip shrugs)

Work out hard everytime, and if you do abs, personaly I would do them after weight training but after having a PWO shake. It normaly takes me 15 minutes then I'm on my way and I head home for my next meal.

Also, don't lift weights then do cardio. Do your cardio in the AM if you can for best results. Read below:

Not necessarely, but you should wait at least 2-3 hours after a meal. I personally believe AM cardio on a empty stomach to be best. And doing weights after cardio is a big no no. Its very catabolic. I do AM cardio for 45 minutes at 65% maximum heart rate for optimal fat burning in the morning on an empty stomach. Then I do my weight training in the evening.

THEFORCE. I do cardio 4 times a week running for about 30 minutes a little over 3 miles early in the morning is better when you have an empty stomach to burn fat. Later in the afternoon I do my weight workout around 6 p.m 12 hours between cardio and weightlifting.

Yes, you need time to recover between bodyparts.

dude thats way too much, if you like working out that much do a 5 day cycle chest, back, shoulders, legs then arms, each on a different day. 7 days of that is rediculous

well i seriously doubt u were tht serious when you were twelve, cause not many ppl have the knowledge to even know what serious is when they first start out. unless i've read this wrong, u can't b lifting tht serious either, b/c you dont even work out ur shoulders. secondly ur probly not sore cause u've been doin the same workout for too long. all ur doing for chest is bench press? u need to mix some flys in there, and dumbell presses. i just think you'd benefit a lot more from a much more divided training split. b/c trust me, wen u go to the gym and workout one or 2 muscle groups approx 3-4 exercises each, ur gonna b sore. and when i said explain your training routine, i meant in more detail. saying u do a back workout of 3 sets at 10 reps tells me nothing cept ur probly neglecting parts of ur back. i dont think u can successfully hit each part of ur back w/ one exercise. lets list some exercises, but imo ur not doing enuf for each muscle group, cept for maybe bi's and tri's
