    Always tired

So here's the deal, I'm always tired and worn out. I don't eat as much as I probably should but I think I eat a pretty balanced diet. I know I'm not over training because I'm doing the HIT training method. I sleep 10 hours a night and am still tired and lethargic. What gives? Think maybe I need to get my test levels checked?

Are you taking in much sugar? I had a problem with snacking at night and eating sugars (thinking a couple cookies wouldn't hurt) and figured out that I was sugar crashing and not feeling too peppy in the AM.
Changed that to protein before bed - ususally cottage cheese and I actually felt a little more energetic in the mornings.

also might want to get a study for sleep apnea, a common culprit in guys with thick necks

It is still possible to over-train with any training method and if you are not eating enough you could fry your CNS.

Yea I thought about that and I think it could be part of the problem. I know I don't eat enough but a lot of times I'm just not hungry. I'm going to try and up the cals by about 500 and see what happens.
I usually start to crash at around 9 or 10 p.m.; about 4-5 hours after my workouts.

a low callorie count can do this but also taking each set to failure can really hammer your cns, which takes days/week longer to recover fully unlike your muscles.

Also think about what you are eating, not just calories.

A calorie is not a calorie, it's not as simple as that. Think of it in terms of macros.

What you are describing could be a number of things, but it's probably from over-training. Try giving yourself a little break from the gym and make sure you are getting a well balanced diet.

bingo, and it is possible you have a sleep disorder and you're not actually sleeping that full 10 hours.

Are you sleeping on a routine. Meaning you usually go to sleep and wake up around the same time? This is important to do. Also 10 hours is to much in my opinion, 8 should be plenty. Try to eat more complex carbs as well.

haven't always been tired, just past year or two. My blood pressure is always low but I honestly don't know what it is right now. My sleep schedule is pretty consistent but not always the same. I think it really boils down to the fact that I need more fuel. I work my ass off at the gym at about 4 every day and i always seem to get tired within 4-5 hours of lifting. I take about 46 grams of protein for PWO by shake, then eat 40+ more at a meal about 1 1/2 hours later.
Maybe it is just so damn hot out that the heat is making me tired?
