hey guys, im back. if you saw the thread about me going in. i went in on wed morning to have my knee flushed out because of possible staph infection. they wanted to keep me there a couple days under watch of infection control doctors. good news, it looks like all blood tests are looking good, no sign of infection. but of course, always with good news espcially with me theres bad news.. as percaution to this situation because of my age and potential issues, they wanted to go aggressive as they can about it to make sure i will be okay. yesterday they hooked me up to what i think they were calling a "pick IV" its an iv that was started in the inner bicep and is a catherter that is inserted into a vein that goes all the way from my bicep into my chest. they sent me home. im on iv from home for 4WEEKS!!!! i have to give myself iv meds every 12 hours for 4 weeks. i cannot believe this. crap feels funny in my arm. im trying to stay positive but come on already!!!
ps-nurse was impressed on how good and controlled my hand was getting the air out of the syringe..![]()
