Any tips for getting my legs dialed in?

Ok, the show is still a good ways out, like 13 wks. I'm really narrowing in on this issue now, as it's what hurt me my last show. If my legs had matched my upper body there is no question that I would have kicked ass. Basically I think it's more fluid retention than anything. My legs are nothing to sneeze at, good sweep, strong(squat 500/10, leg press w/ 1300 lbs, etc etc) but the ****ers just dont cut up good. Even when my bodyfat was low as shit my legs just didnt come in good, so I'm almost positive its mad fluid retention. I even dropped the pressing 3 wks out. However, I was training them hard, I mean really hard!! Legs were twice/wk and my leg extensions were like sets of 40 and 50, lunges were insane, like 15 laps around a small track lunging, so maybe they refused to change because they were in such shock. They stayed sore as **** ALL THE TIME. So this time I figure I'm going to drop the legs to once/wk, and do more posing than pressing. Anybody else have stubborn legs? And what are some things that you do to get them to come in? Do you think I was overtraining them and thats why they didnt look so good?

Stop training legs 2 weeks out, that's pretty big thing...also at the show lay with your legs elevated...other then that it's mostly diet, there no exercise to get them lean...just work them like you normally would, and if you are in 4% BF or so, they will be ready...XXL

i've heard to stop training legs 2 weeks out as well, does this include calves??? I've also heard of laying with ur legs elevated, i'm guessing u do this before u pump up??? what's the reasoning behind this???

Draw blood out of your legs...yes i would stop calfs as well...and one more thing...DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE PUMP YOUR LEGS...NO LEG PUMP...XXL

one quick question, we're stopping our leg training 1 week out, how about cardio?

since cardio utilizes our legs, is it considered "training" our legs?

Honestly bro, and I am not trying to be a smart ass here, if you get lean enough your legs should be dialed no matter what, unless you jsut royally **** something up wiht your water/carb manipulation at the end. If you get incredibly peeled, there should be no problems of anything not coming in...bottom line.

hmm... i think spound is right.

I am the opposite though, ss, even @ 10%+ bodyfat my legs look pretty ripped and I still have striations. The only problem are I have is my lower abs for some reason. I would like to attribute my perma-striations to the fact that I always burn out on either leg extenstions or machine leg press for like 25 reps @ the end of my leg workouts and squeeze my quads tight @ the end of each rep.
