Hello i am 23 years old,my stats are;
training for 5-6 years
bf% of around 11%
weigh anywere from 13.3lbs to 13.6lbs and i wish to bulk up and put on solid muscle mass.
i prefere free weights but i do go to the gym only once a week to do exercises on my legs and use the treadmill etc, i do this because i prefere to train at home with my free weights and money is tight.
i have a few questions which i would greatly appreciate if you could take the time to answer.
1)i currently train at 3 sets of 6 reps, i know their is much controversy about reps and sets, and i have used 3 sets of 10 reps and 3 sets of 8 reps in the past but i have found my strength and growth has greatly increased sinse using this, what do you think is a good amount of sets and reps.
2)how should i change my workout?is it better to train my chest with my triceps or my chest with my biceps?as i am noticing more and more people training their bicep with their chest.if i was to do this how do i pair my other muscle groups?
this is my current training routine, each exercise is carried out with 3 sets of 6 reps, let me know what you think......
mond-chest/tris
wed-back-bicep
thurs-running sesh/legs/abdominal
sat-chest/shoulders
i train my chest twice as i found this to be my lagging muscle, but now that i have worked on it i do not need to train it twice a week.so i need some ideas to change my routine.i also work my muscles to muscle failure if one session i workout and carry out all the exercises with ease or to not maximal effort,i will train till i cannot lift anymore by lifting intense for the last 10 minutes of the workout.
this is the routine i am thinking of carrying out, each exercise would be carried out with 3 sets of 6 reps, let me know what you think....
mon-back/traps
wed-chest/biceps
thur-cardio session/legs/abdominals
sat-shoulders/triceps
OR...
mon-chest/tris
wed-bicep/back
thurs-cardio session/legs/abdominals
sat-shoulders/traps
either way im game, so plz giv me any ideas you think would help me out asap, dont threat to give me productive critasism, about the order of the workout and the muscle pairing.cheers for your time.
