Could it be because I'm doing 1 rep on each exercise?
I added 50 LB's to each of 5 lifts.
Is the number of repititions that important?
Thanks

Are you joking? 1-3 reps for strength, 5-8 strength/size, and 8-12 is primarily for hypertrophy (size). This is general and there are a million differing opinions but look at the power lifting vs the bodybuilding workout logs on this site. Look at Doc Sust's 3x3 article and then check out some of Nark's logs. Very different approach.Originally Posted by steppenwolf
repetitions are very important bro
damn dude, im not trying to make fun but that is prob the first thing every1 learns when lifting, dont do 1 rep for each exersice unless u wanna be a powerlifter and even then u start at about 4-6 and work ur way down to one.
The biggest guy I ever saw in person did single reps & powerlifting, hence my confusion.
Thank you all for replying.
Yes yes reps is all good and nice to stimulate hypertrophy but if you dont feed the body to exploit the potential, your growth will be close to null. Whats your diet and stats?
if you want size, you train to failure with high reps, if you are a powerlifter like me, we train low reps mostly NOT to failure. they are 2 different ball parks. read the workout forums. powerlifters can have lots of size, but that is a side effect of the training and the individuals genetics. for powerlifters strength comes first, and if we put on some extra size by getting stronger than it is just an added benefit, not our intention. and vice versa for BBers
I eat a lot. I'm overweight. My diet isn't clean. I'm not a dedicated dieter.
I geuss I need to step it up.
Thank you all for replying.
