    unbalanced bench press?

for some time, ive noticed something odd going on with my bench press. it seems to me, and whomever is spotting me at the given time, that my last 2 heavy sets of bench press, with reps in the range of 5-6, my right arm seems to fall behind a little bit compared to my left. everyone who spots me tells me that they only had to help out on the right side of my body. has anyone else ever had this problem? and is it something i shud really worry about? any ideas, comments, concerns?

all other presses, although slight lag from the right arm, is by far nothing to worry about. every other pressing movement is just about pefecty balanced.

this should stop over time, its a clear indication that your a beginner or not used to handling a certain amount of weight.

it's a long shot but maybe a chiropractic adjustment would help out. If your posture is out of alignment it may cause you to be off balance. Just a thought.

its normal for people to have one side thats stronger then the ever, for example say if your right handed and do a majority of work with ur right hand then chances are your right arm is slightly stronger then ur left. But when your benching if you focus on this problem enough you should be able to correct it just tell your left side to slow down a little bit on the positive movement upward, and to press a little harder with ur right side, like i will also find my one side lags a bit in my last few reps but my spotter will say something and i will correct it and really focus on that so i keep the bar straight. You could also maybe try DB's too so each arm works independently, or try backing off the weight a little with BB if you can't quite get it corrected.

In my experience its usually a problem which is adjusted (by itself) over time.

I think we've all had it at one time or another.

well i wouldnt really call myself a beginner, but im not a top dog neither. yes, that is me in my pic. yea im going to try and make the switch to dumbbells again, i go back and forth with those, alternating every month or so. next time i hit up the bench press though, ill take into consideration dropping some weight and really focusing on the balance. thanks guys.
