    high fiber bagels

hey guys what do yuo think about "Fleischers" bagels which have 23 carbs including 13 g fiber, amounting to a mere 10 carbs per bagel?

even though they are processed, do you suppose that the added fiber will drastically slow the digestion?

sounds a bit fishy to be anything i'd try, but I'd like to hear what some of the guru vets have to say about things like this. Sort of goes hand in hand with cereals like grapenuts. Not great carbs, but does the added fiber make it an ok food to eat while dieting? I'm not familiar with that kind of bagel either.

It's more of an issue as to what the goals set forth are, your entire approach, etc. etc.

fiber should be labeled as fiber and carbs as carbs so you shouldnt be able to subtract ammount of fiber from ammount of carbs unless you guys use some fishy labeling over there??

yeah i don't quite get the whole subtracting fiber from total carbs either. But would eating a higher gi carb with lots of fiber be sort of the same as eating just a low gi carb, because the fiber would slow its processing time down?

fiber is a type of carb, thus the subtraction from total carbs

The point is they should NOT be included in the carb count on the label because they can not be utilised for energy in humans. Even though they are polysaccharides. Maby you label differently over there but in sweden fibers are not included into carbs.
