    Running

I am currently on cycle right now and have been doing 30-45 mins of cardio at 60-75% of hr 5 days a week. But I have really hit a wall on dropping body fat, how bad would it be to run a couple miles 3 days a week in addition to my regular workouts? I would do regular cardio in the morning, weights around 5, then go running around 10, hit up a whey and casein shake and some peanut butter, and goto sleep.

if running at 10 doesnt affect your sleep go for it.

if you hit a wall dropping bodyfat i would burn a few more calories or ingest a few less calories.

ive been tweaking my diet to give me optimum performance, and with me its tricky. Too little carbs i have zero energy, to many im tired as hell. I have it just right right now with carbs in the am with oatmeal, then an apple and whey before workout, and whey dex after, with another pro/carb meal 1 1/2 hrs later. All the rest of my meals in the day are pro/fat and my whey/casien shake at night is pro/fat too. My main concern is i hear ppl say running makes you break down muscle

mabye instead of 30-45min up it to 60min morning cardio.

if your worried about running breaking down muscle just do something with less intensity, but i think upping your morning cardio would be your best bet.

30-45 mins 60-75% thats a big range. Stick with 45mins at 65-70% in the A.M. 6x a week if you are cutting...which I take it you are. I have a problem with all pro/fat meals except PWO..I cut much much better if I eat pro/carb meals throughout the day..

Agreed. Stay with a consistent 45min 65-70% 6x a week for now..and see how that goes. I also advice you to take a look at 1bdmfkr's cutting dietin his thread..it is very similar to my diet. Keeping small amts of carbs and moderate protein in each meal throughout the day seems to keep my metabolism up and gives me MUCH more energy than pro/fat all day long. Esp preworkout.

ive been doing the a.m. cardio for about 4 months now, dropping bf% slowly, but still at 15%, its always been a bi@tch for me to lose bf, i was a fatty as a kid. A couple of years ago i dropped a good amount by running a lap on a track, walking 1/8 of a lap, doing two 50 yard sprints, and repeating 3 more times. Im thinking of tossing it in at night, or maybe just running 2 miles straight to see which gives better results.

This may rile up some members of the board but my suggestion is based on personal experience and works for me...Basically, whenever I hit the wall during cutting, i do cardio 2x a day, one A.M. empty stomach and one PWO (20 minutes while reducing weight training time by 5-10 mins so that the whole exercise session takes 70 mins max)...of course, I'm on gear so I maintain the muscle...if you are natural, you may try it but I dont garantee that you wont lose some muscle mass along with it too!

    cheers
