Question need help from dr. sust

    dr. sust,
i am 6-7 months post-op from posterior labrum surgery. they other day was first day in gym for upper body. did one exercise for each major upper body muscle group except shoulders. during DB bicep curls with 20-25 pounds it didnt feel that great in the shoulder...and during DB bench with with 40-45 pounds there was some uncomfort. i was told i could start lifting lift.

any reason for this or advice?

by the way i play baseball and am basically done with my rehab throwing program and very close to returing the game play

    thanks doc

sinceicant exam you , i cant specify, but a little discomfort is ok, but if we are talking about full blown pain, you have to stop. this is the kind of thing you have to play by ear. try to keep it light, choose exericses that feel the least uncomfortable, keep the volume low and slowy build it up. keep working your rotator cuff muscles for more stabilty and strength. warm up proper, you may want to heat before you workout and ice after

yeah im doing all of my rotator cuff exercises...jaeger sports baseball routine with j-bands to be exact. not sure if you have even heard of it.
i have not been icing at all because i have been gettin prolotherapy injections every 2 weeks for the last 3 months...and prolotherapy causes inflamtion to promote healing so if i did use ice i might as well stop paying for prolotherapy since the ice would stop inflamation
