Cortisone can mask the pain and enable you to do further damage. Great for pain relief, but it is only temporary![]()
Wont that also eat your muscle tissue? I thought cortisol was one of muslces worst enimies?Originally Posted by jpkman
have taken them while on cycles of prop. and also while on test e. dont know if harmful but did not affect results. take them every few weeks for foot and ankle pain.Originally Posted by wnate01
I have tendonitis in my elbow from a past tear in my tricep tendon and i refused to take the shot eventhough the pain is horrible because if my problem is from a tear then why would i do something that is known to make it more prone to tears?? Those pain injections do miracles for people who have joint and bone pain but if your pain is caused by a tendon (hence tendon-itis) then there is a chance there are small stretches and tears in it already! Why take the risk of using them on a cycle when u know u will gain lots of strength and lift heavier hence causing more damage which u might not feel untill its too serious.
i couldn't imagine if my tendonitis were to get worse and I know it could.
i took a couple of the cortizone shots but laid off and of course the symptoms improved, but I would never take cortizone so i could do the things i can't do without
I've got some decent experience with cortisone and thought I'd give my 2 cents. I don't think you should worry about it having some kind of negative interaction with your stack. One would have nothing to do with the other.
Cortisone isn't a pain reliever. Pain relief comes comes as a result of it, but it is specifically an anti-inflammatory agent. It can reduce or eliminate inflammation and thus you'd be pain free, but you wouldn't be masking anything.
It does have a disruptive effect with protein, but your stack would prob overwhelm that anyway. While multiple shots can have negative affects on connective tissue, you wouldn't be risking damage with one shot. Following up with an HGH shot in the same area is an interesting idea as joint injections with HGH are known to have local positve affects on connective tissue.
I hope your talking about a doc giving you that shot and not yourself. It's a shot that must be done and delivered correctly, it's a tricky deal doing it yourself.
If you get a shot, give that elbow some good rest for a few days. At least two days minimum without strenuous exercise.
Man, I'm so ready to take another shot(cortizone) as I crave relief for my freakin elbow. I have been lifting every other day sometimes just to let it rest as it seems like any muscle group(except legs LOL)that I work has an effect on it in someway.
I'll tell you what. I play pro baseball and have been dealing with tricep tendonitis for about two months now. It started mid arm and got worse and worked it's way down to the joint. I got two cortisone injections which helped calm things down, but it all got inflamed again once I resumed pitching, plus the days off I needed to let it work made my arm strength and velocity suffer. The best thing I did was inject HGH directly into the belly of the tricep.
It was amazing. Typically I pitch thru my outings then feel incredibly sore for the next few days. After a start where it was at it's worst, I injected 9ius of Serostim, went to sleep, and woke up with vitually no soreness in that tricep. I barely did it about two weeks ago, wish I would have done it when it all started, because the near my elbow I still have some tendonitis issues. But the tricep is great, if I would have done this sooner I probably could have nipped it in the bud.
A teammate of my has a doctor who introduced him to these inter muscular HGH injections to deal with injuries, he's overcome shoulder and hamsrting problems with it, I'm pretty sold on it myself, just wish I had more growth, I'd use it after every start.
man that's good news...maybe you'll eventually get a complete turnaround with using the gh....i had it in my left to begin with and then when i started taking test injections (doses up to 400mg wk) my healthy right elbow pops up with it and after about a month my left is actually feeling better? not complaining about that though...just can't figure that part out.
I used to pitch in H.S. but haven't thrown a ball in years...I took my kids to a place that radars pitches and didn't even try to heave it and my shoulder just WAS numb...good thing I held back...I knew I was flirting with disaster there...I think I threw like 50...LOL
