I was at work yesterday(work for Fire Dept.) and my buddies wife and kids came in to see him. Well one of his kids brought his friend, the kid is around 12 years old I think. Well this kid was all about bodybuilding, he thought it was great that I was getting ready for a competition. The kid was making me do all these poses for him, grabbing my arms, the little guy even took pictures on his camera phone!! He was asking me about the types of foods I eat and all, and to my amazement this kid knew his shit. I was talking about how I load up on carbs and sugars right before the show, and the kid was like "yeah, it brings out your vascularity and pumps you up right?" I was like, no kidding, how the hell did you know that? "Oh, my dad used to be a bodybuilder" he said. I think he used to bench like 440 or something, he says. So the kid goes out into our bay and we have some weights out there. He starts curling like 30 or 40 lbs on the ez curl bar, actually had halfway decent form too. For 12 years old this kid was pretty big!! Well, he starts loading the bar up and asking me if I can lift it, cause he wanted to see it. So I messed around a little bit w/ like 225. I was dog tired, didnt feel like lifting shit yesterday either, but I did it for him. Well, earlier today my wife went over to my friends house to spend some time w/ his wife and let my step daughter play w/ her kids. My buddies wife tells her that the kid talked about me non-stop the whole way home yesterday. Well, come to find out, the kids dad did in fact bodybuild competitively, but what I didn't know is the guy died last year, got taken by cancer. The kid told them "yeah, he's pretty cool, when I was lifting w/ him it reminded me of my dad" I'm tearing up right now just typing this shit out for you guys. I guess you never know who you might be an inspiration to. Thanks
