as a powerlifter, i never used any of these compounds,(HGH,insulin and igf 1) for strength? when compared to AAS, how does GH and related products compare for absolute strength gains and strength training?

Good question doc. I was wondering this myself. I was thinking about doing HGH, but I read that once you introduce exogenous growth hormone that your natural levels will never go bcak quite to where they were. So once your on it, you'll be silly not to use it regularly, as I understand it.
Jay Cutler has been on that stuff since he was 18. Seems to be working for size quite nicely.
your natural test level also drops with overuse of synthetic test over long periods of time. no suprise the HGH would do the same
I heard that HGH is a one hitter quitter. One shot equals a lifetime of below natural endogenous production.
Who generally takes insulin? Do big guys who eat alot tend to take it? Isn't insulin injected into the a**omen somewhere? I don't like that idea.
What is IGF-1
IGF is insulin like growth factor, which I would see as great for powerlifting, considering it promotes hyperplasia, which is the creation of new muscle cells. I know a few guys who compete in federations and get tested, and they swear by HGH and IGF, since it's also one of the few things they can get away with.Originally Posted by Velkar182
alot isnt know about igf1, i have heard a few different things, but notjing definate, i know it is supposed to create hyperplasia, but at what dose and how long do you have to take it?also i know thr oral igf1 is a fckn joke!
I don't really think it works well for strength but I seem to heal faster from nagging little injuries... I do get a lot of people telling me that I'm entirely too lean now for powerlfiting LOL... I started showing veins in my lower abs about 6 months into it which I never had showing before. I almost have a year complete and feel more muscular than ever and that is definitely not a bad thing! It's just F'N expensive.Originally Posted by Doc.Sust
i could use the help with injury healing. my fckn Knees are killing me!!! to many years of raw lifting. thanks for the advice, if doesnt work welll for strength i am not that intrested, i am now up to 220lbs and i like my gut, i couldnt imagine having veins in my lower abs, i was lucky to ever see my lower a** let alone veins in them!hahaha!!Originally Posted by RJstrong
HGH is expensive and you have to stay on it at least 6 months to0 see results, how much longer do you plan on stayin on HGH? are you stilll considering going up to 275lbs for the WPO?
initially I wanted to go for a solid year... if it was a bit more affordable I would consider staying on for a while longer... we will see I may push it for another six months or so.Originally Posted by Doc.Sust
as far as the WPO I think putting on the weight would be the only way I can hit those kind of huge numbers to be competitive... only problem is I seem to be in a weight gaining lull. I'm gonna be patient and let time tell and just keep training like crazy and let things just fall into place.
side note: you see Greg Panora's latest meet results (he won 242's Sr. Nationals in Vegas this past June) he hit a 2485 @ 236 beating Goggins old world record... proving that for some weight gain isn't a necessity, however for me I think I will need the weight gain to hit numbers like that... we will see!
by the way good to talk to ya Doc it has been a little while!!!

good to talk toyou to RJ, i havent seen you around in a while, where have you been?Originally Posted by RJstrong
yep i saw panora's total on Plifting watch, before today, i never heard of him, but damn, beating goggins numbers is impressive(if googins had a better bench and a more consistent deadlift, he would be close to unbeatable.) my favorite 242er is Kirk K, if you ever have the pleasure of meeting him, youwill see he is absolutely a lunatic!! 2300 with the old single ply equipment of 10 years ago was incredible. he squated a grand back than!!wow!!! i have much respect for him BUT there is no way in hell Kirk was an ipf "drug free" lifter. that is also a pretty well known fact, and his pal Ed C. sure as hell wasnt. but damn, either way, they were the best, and if they still were at there peak, using todays new equipment, they would have taken those numbers to almost unimaginable levels. hell Ed C came close to 2500lb total at 242 a couple of times.
Coan & Kirk ...They are powerlifting to me...the golden years....
i hear you, but we cant live in the past, we have to move fwd. the sport has changed.IMO not for the better, but this is the hand we were delt, either we play with it or we fold.Originally Posted by BNK

I've been kinda staying away from the forums for a bit... still been lurking just not posting. I'm doing my training log for Southern States at the B.A.G. forum... Bad Attitude Gym, they are outta Texas... great group of guys and lifters. I got to know them from Sr. Nationals... they have a great site with out all the smack talk that is typical at other forums... I will be checking in here more often now that I'm back in training mode.Originally Posted by Doc.Sust
You are right those two are excellent examples of what powerlifting is supposed to be about... I guess it's time to write a new chapter though. Hopefully we can all contribute in a positive manner as Ed and Kirk did... that is really all the sport needs and what the sport deserves. This is why I always considered you a great example of what the sport needs... more people giving back in a positive manner in hopes of enticing young lifters to get more involved by passing on solid training advice for a long healthy lifting career!
Ive never used HGH or slin, and prolly never will use slin. My moms side of family has a history of diabetes, i know, i know slin usage has never been linked to diabetes but i just dont think slin is worth the risk.
I have used igf-lr3. its pretty good for *temporary* fatloss. what i mean by this is that once you stop the fat magically reappears. dont know how. didnt really notice any hypertrophy or strength gain on it either.
i just cant afford hgh at present, but it does stack in nicely with testosterones and AS. the reported benefits to tendons would be reason enough to use it for powerlifting.
thanks RJ,that means alot to me! i really do love to give back to our community.if it wasnt for people giving me their help, i wouldn't have ever become a good PLer ,people helped me, so i in turn love to help and try to help people avoid mistakes i made. i also believe the sharing of info, training, workouts helps everyones overall training evolve and i believe the internet is the best tool to do this, you can communicate with the best lifters on the planet, take a peak at their diets and routines and modify your routine accordingly and see what works for you. also i have trained and help start out 3 other lifters that are younger than myself, one went to junior nationals this year, the youngest kid has set s crap load of teenage records, and the newest 21 year old is making crazy gains quick and will be a force real soon, when i see these guys get stronger, it makes me as happy as if it was myself. i know i cant stay in the sport forever, and i am getting only older by the day and have no intention of lifting when i am a master lifter(when my numbers drop w/ age, i will quit) but i will stick around the sport for life, all organizations, raw , equiped drug full or drug free. i also enjoy officiating meets, so i will continue to do that too. i will bbe in this sport in some shape or form for life, even when i dont compete anymoreOriginally Posted by RJstrong
