    total body workouts....cuzz im injured

    ive changed my workouts for the last couple of months due to a back injury and not being able to go work.........i hit the gym 5 days a week...spending as much as 3 hrs at a time working out. i been only doing machines and nothing heavy at all....and i work all muscle groups in a work out......even got my cardio up to an hour a day....bike and walking...when i got hurt in dec my weight was in the 240ishes....now high 250s....is this total body workout good? or am i over training even though i dont go heavy?.....as for feeling it....i feel tighter and have more wind....but look like a sissy moving those light weights on a machine...
    and im doing 5 sets of 10-12reps per muscle......thanks in advance oh and yes....250mg cyp per week......just to keep me motivated.....and 5'11 49yo

    my only concern is that you are not giving your muscles enough time to recover between your workouts. I don't know the specifics of your routine, but from what I can read you work every muscle group almost everyday, which is a bit excessive.

    HST works great i am injured has well in the freaken back but i can still train using this 3 times a week and the gains are even better.

    do a search on HST to find out more hypertrophy specific training

    I have done 2 HST cycles & its a great program. If helped me blow past plateaus that I just could break otherwise & have made good gains using it. see if this link works http://www.hypertrophy-specific.com/about.html
