Real easy. You are gonna run all your audio signals into the receiver. One from the cable box and one from the dvd player and one from the ps2. Then you set the speakers up going left, right and center infront of you and then experiment with where to put the left and right rear satellites for the best imaging and sound. Speaker placement is key.
It's actually pretty easy. Read the instruction booklet. It should have examples how to connect each component. There should be a monitor out, that goes to your television. Then patch each components video and audio output into the receiver input so it can do the A/V switching. If it's digital, use digital audio and video cables for the highest quality connection.Originally Posted by needmorestrength
Did you read the manual that came with the receiver?

I can help as well. Do you have the model number of the receiver? I'll check if I can download a .pdf of the setup manual.
Few questions:
Is it a digital receiver?
What kind of video switching? (S-Video, Component, DVI, HDMI???)
What kind of television are you connecting it to.
What video inputs are on the TV? (S-Video, Component, DVI, HDMI???)
