Toronto police are investigating an apparent triple homicide after three people were discovered stabbed to death at a downtown hotel.
Police were called to the 19th floor of the Delta Chelsea Hotel on Gerrard St. just west of Yonge St. at about 4:30am Monday after security guards found a man with stab wounds in the hallway.
A trail of blood led to a room on the floor where two other bodies were found. Two victims were pronounced dead at the scene while another was taken to hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
There are conflicting reports about whether the victims were two females and a male or two males and a female.
Investigators are on scene questioning possible witnesses and guests, and they've assured that there's no danger to people staying at the hotel. No evacuations were made.
A wing of the 19th floor was closed off as police and the coroner contained the gruesome scene and conducted their investigation.
Officers so far haven't released many details about the killings or the victims' identities.
"There is blood in the hallway. That's how the officers found the room where the other two deceased were located," said Insp. Randy Franks of Toronto Police. "No idea what the connection (between the three victims) is at this time. That's part of the investigation."
Armed ETF officers were also called to the scene at one point to ensure police safety. However it appears there's no hot pursuit of suspects inside the hotel at this point.
