    substitute for deadlifts (just for time being)

    what is a substitute for deadlifting? I took some time off and am going back in and because of some minor back pain I thought doing something in place of deadlifts would be a good idea for now...

    any suggestions??

    Concentric good mornings, out of a rack or off chains suspended in the rack.

    i do a partial deadlift on the rack because of low back problems...same bar but start about 12"-15" (approx.) off the ground so i don't have to take it off the ground...thought somebody called them rack pulls in another thread

    bent barbell rows for upper back and hyperextentions for lower back.
