    Gym shirts has permanent smell!

The shirts that I work out in come out of the wash smelling fine, then when I put them on and start sweating again the smell comes out, like the sweat reactivates the smell. Not a body oder smell, an ammonia smell. I've tried washing in hot water, febreze, soaking. What can I do to get my shirts truley clean?

I get it too. It's from eating too much protein. It makes my sweat and wee smell like ammonia. If it bothers you lower your protein intake.

Yup. My shirts get that way too. That's why I always wear some cheap tshirt to the gym, or even better a free shirt that I got from a product.

Like perfectbeast said, its ammonia. Wash them on a hot wash (60c+) If they dont shrink then they should be fine!

Destroy them and be rid of them forever or sooner or later other people will notice you stink.

sounds like you may have left them in the wash for too long without drying, maybe they soured(mildew) i've done that a few times, the only way i could get the smell out was using bleach, i usually just wash with regular laundry detergent...but for anything that goes sour, only way i've found is bleach...so those dark colors are kinda outa the question

Ahh bro... it's a mildew smell.. Don't be lazy and leave things in the washer.

Here's a trick, boil them in a pot w/ lemon wedges. SOunds funny but it works.

    Sincerely,

    Nap

i know that the lemon has some citric acid wich could possibly do a bit of cleaning, and also just for the lemony scent....but i would think its just the fact that you boil it would do the trick...i doubt mildew will survive being boiled and your wash probly just doesnt get hot enough to kill it off(just as mine doesnt either)
