    hello, everyone

    hello, everyone!

been a long time member, but havent posted in a LONG time. im finally trying to get serious about my health and change my lifestyle for the better.

im 34 years old, 6 foot, and weigh in at 313lbs. 2 months ago i was at 335. i gained alot of weight after i got out of the USN, and have had several problems with high blood pressure because of my unhealthy lifestyle.

i have a great wife and 4 great children- 2 13 year old girls, a 7 year old girl, and a 4 year old boy, so i have to do something to ensure they are taken care of for a long time! my way of living was making me a slob and wasnt working toward that goal.

we are all karate students, and i have been in the arts for a long time, since age 8. i have always worked out hard, but ive always eaten what i wanted, too. i got serious about changing the way i eat about 4 months ago, but couldnt lose any weight or inches. i went to the doctor, who did bloodwork and found my test level to be 82. he put me on depo-test, one cc a month. the weight has started coming off, and my strength has went up (but ive always been strong).

one thing i did notice, about a week ago i crashed big time- it had been 3 weeks since i had the shot, so i went to the doc to try and adjust my shot frequency. he agreed to let me inject every 2 weeks, but only a half cc, so im still at 1 cc per month.

i feel this is not enough to maintain my test level, but dont know how to get that thru to him. he doesnt handle many patients like me, he said maybe 3 or 4 people a year.

i DO NOT want to have super-normal above normal test levels, but i do want them on the high side of normal. does anyone have any suggestions on how to get him to understand that?

with my bloodwork, i could order from online somewhere else, but it is expensive, and they want to do 10 week cycles. i dont want to cycle, i just want to maintain a healthy amount of hrt.

one more thing, when counting calories, i try to stay under 1100 daily. i eat a sandwich made from whole wheat lite bread and turkey or ham for breakfast and lunch, each one is 140 calories. when i get home in the evening from work, i either eat a bowl of cereal with skim milk, or baked chicken and brown rice. what im wondering is, is that too much bread, even though my caloric intake is low?

    thanks for reading thru this!

Welcome! You'll find all the info you'll ever need at AR.

BTW, your diet sounds inadequate for someone your size. I understand that you're trying to lose weight, but at 1100 calories per day your metabolism has probably shut down to preserve your present bodyweight/mass. IMO, you should be eating small meals more frequently and be doing 45-60 mins of cardio on an empty stomach first thing in the morning. These are two basic things you can do to stoke your metabolism and continue to burn fat. Just my two cents.

    Again, welcome!!
