n00b here looking for some advice

I'm your basic weight training novice. A little about me: I'm 5'9", 33 yrs. old, and I weigh about 190(I know... I have a very sedentary job, one of the reasons I'm fired up to get into decent shape). I've always been a thin guy, but over the past few years my age has really caught up to me as far as my weight is concerned. I'm confident that once I get my blood flowing, I will lose most of the fat fairly easily. I don't want to be a 5% bf guy. My main goal is to build strength.

All I have for equipment right now is an adjustable bench, and dumbbells(25s,35s,45s). I know with this limited equipment I can't expect much. My short term goal is to get myself into a routine, get my muscles ready for more intensive work, and THEN start a membership at the local gym. What would be a good routine to get me to that point?

I've done some searching through the forums but MANNNNN there's alot of stuff in there. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

what i would do in your situation is do lots of reps. like 15 to 20 every set. maybe for 3 or 4 sets. this will get you in shape and some cardio. once you've been doing that for a month or so i would get to the gym. low reps and lots of weight once you get there. 6-8 rep range for 2-3 sets with max weight. thats what i would do. diet will help you lose that fat quicker. chech out the diet forum here

Thanks.. What exercises do you suggest? My first few sessions have been this:

    Incline press(3 sets to failure)
Standing bicep curls(3 sets to failure)
    Flat press(3 sets to failure)
Single arm rows(3 sets to failure)
Overhead tricep extension(3 sets to failure)

Would you add or change anything to that?
