good sore, bad sore, getting sore

    hey guys
i recently started working out hard like i used to. i had taken a couple months break and now im really busting my ass in the gym. obviously the first few times back i got really sore. and the more i go the more my body gets used to it. but i really like to have that sore feeling the next day or two so im finding myself doing like 5 or 6 reps of whatever im doing so that when i leave i can barely move. im kind of at the point where i feel like im working as hard as i can but the next day im not feeling it at all.
my question is do you guys that have been working out for months and months consistently still get sore afterwards? also, how can i overtrain?
i remember back when i first started working out i was going for like 6 months about 5/6 times a week and my body was so used to it i wouldnt feel anything afterwards. is that good or bad? let me know

I workout normally 4 days a week (Im in Physical Therapy now so I just do the 3x when I'm there currently) anyways, some muscle groups I am always sore after working the following day and others I dont feel hardly anything even though I worked them hard. It depends on muscle group really. I have read posts from some guys who dont feel sor at all anymore post workout and others that continue to be sore for all muscle group so its a range and everyone seems to be affected differently.
