    effects of sex/ejaculation on workouts

    I have been hearing the arguement back and forth....some people have said it is not good to have sex/ejaculate right before or after workouts. Does anyone have any scientific research/proof on this subject (not just word of mouth). Furthermore, would not having sex for an extended period of time actually help workouts and test levels?? I am trying to gain mass and avoid anything that might interfere with my goals (this will be one hell of a challenge). -thanks

    umm..dude who gives a shit your a guy whats more important bonin chicks or the supposed .025 lbs you coulda gained not havin sex....do you seriously think it makes that big a diff.. this girl i used to know used to love it when i got done w/a upperbody workout..i boinked the shit out of her every chance i got..didnt effect me none..now i'd get a blowjob before a workout but never sit there an play with myself before a workout... thats just a waste of energy..

    Scientifically speaking, after you have sex/ejaculate, it sends a signal to your brain telling the anterior pituitary to release some LH and FSH hormones. The Luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) send messages to your testicles to produce more testosterone and sperm, respectively. With this feedback mechanism in mind, I would say that the most effective time to have sex/ejaculate would be after working out. Abstinence won't do anything to raise your test levels but working out does, esp weighlifting. That abstinence theory is an "old wives tale" , a myth! Just do what comes naturally and enjoy!

    Actually, I believe Warrior posted a study to the contrary. That abstinence does promote higher levels of test. I'll try and dig it up.

    But then again, I mean shit. Little bit more test or sex......hmmmmm

    it is a double edged sword. sex and ejaculating DOES increase test levels, but it also increases oxytocin which makes you sleepy. So i would tryi to come after your workout.
