Anyone who has had a hernia........

The first time i went to the doctor for this he said i didnt have it, now i went two days ago and he says i do so he's send me to a surgeon. My doc. told me that its not bad at all and he thinks i might not need surgery. I have never heard of anyone not having surgery from a hernia but who knows. Can a hernia just heal on its own if its not bad??

I had one on each side and had them both repaired at once. Its not as easy as the doc says. I slowed me down for about 1 yr if you lift heavy. Everything you do involves your mid-section. Sorry to say.

I have an umbilical Hernia which has not gotten any bigger and I am doing nothing about it because its not worth the hassle due to its small size

I dont feel a bump but my doctor said he felt a little one. When i lift something thats pretty heavy i can definitely feel it and if i sit in certain postions it starts hurting sometime. The main place i feel the pain is like right in the lower left side of my stomach and just below that area. I kind of hope that i do have to have surgery. It seems stupid to say that but i would rather just get it taken care of now so later down the road when i can start lifting again it doesnt get any worse but we'll see what happens. I go to surgeon on the 11th so i'll see what he says.

    Thanks guys.
