i can download songs from kazaalite, but i cant play them. my speakers work fine. is there something i need to download to be able to play these downloaded songs?

You could download either winamp player or any window media player should be able to play mp3 files.
Does your pc have any soundcard?
I am not that good either. But that is what I have in my PC at work.

Check soundcard then go to www.winamp.com
