Thread: How can u figure out how much protein is in each Serving of Chicken

    How can u figure out how much protein is in each Serving of Chicken

    I've already done a search so dont flame me if this is commonly discussed...
    I heard from a trainer in my gym there is 6 grams per every ounce of chicken...is this right?
    Also how can find out the amount of carbs from certain foods per serving...such as brown rice...

    I just bought a food scale but still need some info

    It should said on the packages themselves.

    Plus, it depends on what kind of chicken. i.e. white, dark, strips, breasts, fajita strips, etc.

    But nonetheless, it should say on whatever packagening it came in.

    well it also depends on teh weight of the chicken not all pieces of chicken are going to be 32 grams of pro

    Easiest way is to look at the package. It should tell you how much meat protein your chicken is. Some will be 17% meat protein, some will be 18% etc. That means for every 100g of chicken you have 17 or 18g protein. So if you want like 40g weigh out 235g of chicken if you have the 17%.

    Its just simple math and I find this is the easiest and most precise way.

    thats exactly why you ****ers in america should start to use the metric system then all that comes automaticly

    I know bro. Im in Canada and the metric system rocks. It makes everything so simple. I dont understand how the Americans can still be on such a horrible system as the Imperical one. Its values just come from nowhere, I mean 12 inches in a foot, 3 feet in a yard and 1760 yards in a mile. The numbers are so arbitrary.

    I like numbers.

    but dammitt, figuring out my nutrition shit is like a ****ing calculus problem, yet, metric system makes it an algebra problem. I already passed by on 2 meals once I figured out how much to measure out.

    Agree, math was much easier when Clinton was president

    Also, skinless, boneless chicken breasts are 22 grams or protien per 4oz's. I find that all meat is about that, fish, beef, chicken and pork. You might lose a gram here or there, but don't think getting 49 grams instead of 50 will kill you.
