When i squat or do leg presses the tendon behind my left knee on the outside of the knee pops in and out when im in the bottom of my squat.you can watch it while i squat and it pops inward toward the inside of my knee on my way down then pops back out on my way up?it doesnt hurt real bad but its horrible for my concentration and throws me off balance a bit.any help will be appreciated.

I believe the "tendon" you are talking about is actually the LCL, the Lateral Collateral Ligament. I have had 3 knee surgeries in the past year from torn meniscuses. Before surgery I experienced similar symptoms. When I would run the LCL would pop twice, once when my knee was bent, another when my knee straightened. To my knowledge, it seems that you have nothing significant to worry about. It appears that you possibly have an unordinarily shaped tibea head near the LCL site, as I do. The popping could be due to the ligament popping infront and behind the irregular point on your tibeal head. In short, the ligament is popping infront and behind an irregular point. As long as you don't experience pain with the event, I believe you have nothing to fear. However, if you start to feel pain, seek guidance immediately from your local orthopedic doctor. I hope this has helped.

I Have Same Knee Problem. If You Also Have Pain In Your Outside Hip On The Same Leg It May Be Your I.t.b Band. These Problems Can Be Fixed With An Experianced Physical Therapist
    Hope This Helps

Same thing happened to my after i had hyper-extended my knee one time, i let it recover and did some sonservative physical therapy. Then when i was allowed to go back to training the first day i did legs eventhough the weight was extremly light when i did legpress i noticed that the same tendon was popping out, almost like pluck a guitar chord, it wasnt painful but i stopped straight away and went to see my doctor, he told me it had to do with how i was doing the press wrong cause my chicken legs naturally bring my knees together as my legs bend....well it has to do with form and muscle balance.

I would adjust your stance and see if it goes away, you dont want it to do that when your lifting fast or with heavy weights.
