Is there an approximate range for the amount of cals that you shouldnt exceed in one meal? Curious because i did the macros of a meal i just ate and was near 1300 cals and 117prot(14 oz steak and 1 1/2 serving mac and cheese)

that is asking for fat gain IMO. The body can only cope with so much. I shoot for no more than 50g protein per meal and even that is probably overkill for me. and drop the macs and cheese they are full of crap.
Mac and cheese is terrible. Fill the gap with fiberous veggies or brown rice.Originally Posted by perfectbeast2001
i love the velvetta mac n cheese
trust me i know how bad the mac and cheese is, a cheat meal not in my normal diet
I just look at how many cals I need in 1 day, and divide it up as evenly as possible into my 6 meals.
For example...if I need 4000 cals everyday, divided upon 6 meals
comes out to about 670 cals per meal.
and make sure I get about 40g of protein each meal, the high complex carbs I need, and EFA's...and Im all set when I go to sleeep...
i sometimes melt cheese on my steak.

What about 1 minute oatmeal instead of brown rice, it just takes so long to cook.... (not the litte flavored quaker oat packets with sugar and stuff).Originally Posted by Cacrat
While bulking the most protein I have per meal is maybe 60-70 tops and 800 calories I would guess. I would drop the mac&cheese as well for some potatoes/sweet potatoes and vegetables.Originally Posted by shawn9811
Tough question to answer. It depends a lot on your size and activity level. Not sure of an exact number, but I would say it would have to be some kind of ratio of calories to lean mass (or something along these lines). Sorry, I can't give a straight answer, but there are many variables involved. Perhaps Giantz will chime in.
