    What does mean to retain Water?

    hey fellows,
    I have been doin some intensive readings and oftentimes I do come across expression such as "retain water mass" after a bulking cycle. what the heck does that mean?

    please be friendly in ur response; let's make this forum a conducive place to exchange ideas and learn from each other.

    basically it means just what it says. Certain AAS compounds make the body hold onto water in many places. Sub Q, joints, face...etc..... some of this is good when lifting very heavy as it helps cushion the joints. Compounds like Dbol give great strenght BUT most of the weight gain is from water retention that will subside after the cycle is over.

    as far as i know ..water retention is a side effect during a cycle. It means your cells take in more water ( swell up). Estrogen build-up is said to cause this.

    thanks sman12, u must have done ur research quite well, however my next question in line based on ur response below is whether retaining water for weight gain is permanent or not, wheter it is a good thing or not.

    I read something like that before, rafael. It could be right, only definitive research will telll. Thanks for the response.

    Water weight is NOT permanant or is it muscle . Whether it is a good thing or not depends on your specific goals. Some pros in the off season put on a lot of mass in order to build more muscle at the sacrafice of their look. They will look bloated and have moon face only to cut all the water weight after the cycle and hopefully be left with a lean more muscular physique.

    Some people do not want to look all bloated and have a puffy face, or have to explain the obvious sudden weight gain, so it all depends on what you are willing to go through to get bigger.

    how in the hell did u know all that? just kidding!! My goals is not for competition. I have got a career in accounting. I simply just want to get in shape, a shape that intimedates a little but not so much. Hey thanks for ur feedback again.
