    Weight loss to join military

I am a 25 yr old guy trying to drop down from 265 lbs to 215 lbs to enlist in the Marine Corps. Have been doing pretty good as of late in losing weight but have been stuck at 265 lbs for a while ( I started at 290 lbs). Have been doing at least an hour of cardio/day, abs everyday, pushups and other light weight excersizes (cannot afford a real gym membership so I go to the shitty little one provided by the apartment complex). As for a diet, it is as follows:

0600 - Abs & Pushups followed by Protein Shake
1000 - Piece of fruit (apple, banana)
    1230 - Protein Shake
1430 - Piece of fruit (apple, banana)
    1800 - Workout (cardio/light weights/abs)
1930 - Chicken or Cube Steak w/ small salad (no dressing)

I have been following this for a few weeks and have had plenty of energy but would like some input as to something that might work a little better or if I am doing any harm.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

You need to post the macro's of your meals for an indepth look, but initially it seems to me that you are starving yourself. Eating WAY too little. That barely looks like a 1000 kcal. Too many protein shakes.

I have gotten that I am eating way too little from a friend of mine as well. Have been keeping it to appr 1250-1500 kcal/day and appr 65-75g of protein. Have been drinking appr 1.5-2 gals of water/day if not more. Still new to the strict diet and learning as I go unfortunately. Not positive about the other particulars and don't really know what I am looking at. Thanks for the input about the shakes.

    Too little info brother...

Post what your protein drink consists of ...

Drop the fruit ... add more veges ... you need to follow a 5-6 small meal plan to lose weight ..

You need to make these meals all around the same amount of calories per meal and make sure your calories are around 15-1800..

take some supplemental vitamins and minerals, I would also suggest some added fiber ( psyllium husk or something ) I think thats how is is spelled ... I dont have some in front of me.

If you starve yourself the Body will shut down to hold weight on... until such time as your body turns on itself and starts causing health problems... So start eating..

Lets break down your current diet and get you on track boy...

    good luck

here is a link to the cutting sticky thread, it will help give you a good idea of where to start. http://forums.steroid.com/showthread.php?t=75729 just figure out what your main sources of complex carbs, protein, and fat are going to be. then make up a diet the best you can and post it here so we can help you critique it.

also i dont know how fast your metabolism is but if you weigh 265lbs you could probably start off around 2000calories/day and adjust it every couple weeks as needed.

also doing cardio first thing in the morning on an empty stomach really is the best time to do cardio because there is no food in your stomach so you will start burning fat much sooner.
