the only time you'd ideally want a simple carb is post workout, or if you were taking part in a long endurance event, you might consume sugar to keep your glucose levels up.
sugar is never good good unless like said above ur using simple carbs post workout... but sugar in the form of pop,candy etc... is never good.
Corn sugar (dextrose) is good for post workout, gives you that insulin spike to absorb more protein at a faster rate.
Sugar is also beneficial DURING your WO. Gatorade is a staple.
other than gatoraid durrin work out as said above I wouldnt touch sweets, I hate sweets anyway... makes me feel groase
Dextrose does help with creatine absorbtion. It's also good to add into PWO shakes.
Sugar from sweeets, pop (soda), chocolate, ect is never good. Bulking or cutting, you want to avoid sugar.

It all depends on the sugar in question.
There is a whole world of difference betwen sugars. Lactose is ok, dextrose is not ok. Galactose is ok, fructose(in big ammounts) is not ok.
Just because something is a sugar doesnt mean its bad.
