    Subway Vs. Quiznoss....

I used to pound a footlong tuna post workout in college almost daily. Now, it's been about 8 years since I have had fast food.....what are you thoughts on these two joints? Sodium is high which sucks, but aside from that.....veggie subs with your own chicken? Anyone frequent daily?

Periodically when bulking I'll go to subway and put down a double meat footlong grilled chicken with a little southwest sauce. I definitely wouldn't go there while cutting though.

I would not eat them 3 times a week i mean you have good diet set up just follow it. again this is just my .2. I would not eat them just personal preference. and i dont see the need to. You could make your own. just throwing out ideas.

i used to eat as subway almost daily, if you just get chicken on wheat bread with some vegetables and mustard its not bad at all. although if i was dieting for a contest or something i pretty much wouldnt eat anything unless i made it myself.

Just make a sensible sandwich and eat it on your cheat day or for your cheat meal, whichever you take. Make it with high protein, obviously high carbs with a footlong (make that they're wheat bread footlong) and have them throw some olive oil and vinegar on there for your fat. You could also ask to see the nutrition facts of their premade sandwiches and I think they have them handy. Personally, I'd say if you were on the road and you were going to miss a meal then subway or quiznos is your best choice.

Cheat day? with subway?? maybe some papa johns.

if you are going to eat subway just do like was said above or what i do (Roasted Chicken breast on honey oat, toasted, no cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, peppers and mustard) low fat, high (COMPLEX carbs) low sugar, BIG SANDWICH.

    Speak for yourself.

Anyways, I will say this. I rarely cheat. But Im not against it for people who can do it. Hell there are many pro's who cheat. I have seen many interviews with Chad Nichols and his dieting advice etc. If you dont know Chad Nichols you should look him up, probably the number one nutitionist among bodybuilders today.

Anyways, one interview with Melvin Anthony, Melvin talks about how he will eat pizza and cheesecake on any given day. But that is ONTOP of his quality protein sources, its a bonus. That being said if you can get away with the cheat and its ontop of your macros and not part of them then whatever. If you are fat or susceptible to easy fat gain than you're asking for trouble but otherwise its just added cals and you are bulking so I dont see a big deal.

I will go to Subway once in a while when I need to. I go to school and prep most of my meals the morning of. Tuesdays my schedule is friggin balls so its very hard so I will sometimes hit up Subway and grab something, but easy on the sauces and cheese.

So, to put it all together. If you have no aspirations of pursuing bodybuilding professioanlly or whatever than eat whatever the hell you want as long as its ON TOP of your daily macros. Never replace a meal with pizza or something, thats dumb. But adding on to you daily totals with a sub is in NO WAY going to hinder gains and will actually help you grow. If you get fat though dont come back here and complain. LOL.

I think if you have one cheat meal a week it would be more beneficial than it would be harmful. It actually helps you stay on track because you can fulfill whatever urge you have to eat garbage at that one meal and not be tempted through the whole week. Really if you are that worried than just eat the crap food on TOP of you regular diet like c_bino said. That's what I do.

Aight bro whatever you want. Im just tellin you what the best in the business practice and what I myself do.

You came in and asked for advice, I gave you mine. If you were set on sticking to your guns why even post the question?

Not being a prick but really, why not switch it up and try something different and see what happens. And when I talk about adding pizza or cheesecake ON TOP of your daily intake I mean a slice of either or something not a whole pizza, doing that is just stupid.

i do have to say that eating a "cheat" meal once in a while is VERY beneficial to the growth factor. Outside of what the mags and videos say the pros eat WAY more "bad" foods than you think.

Replace 12oz chicken breast + 1 1/2 cups of oats with one large pizza? That makes no sense. Like Bino said before...cheating is fine IF you can get away with it (which I cannot) and if you must, add it to your meals that you already consume to where you hit your daily macro requirements first.

I eat quiznos LARGE primerib peppercorn subs on whole wheat like it's my job. Tons of great bulking goodies in that thing. They must put like a pound of prime rib in there.
