    Personal Training in UK

hi guys im interested in earning some personal training qualifications, but im a little puzzled where to start!

basically wondering what companies people recommend and/or what qualifications (examining bodies, course tittles etc) i should ensure i obtain before paying out the cash!

also to anyone who has the qualifications, how is it developed your career etc.

    cheers guys

I did a course run by the ymca about 15 or so years ago, at the time it was "the" qualification to have as it was recognised by local councils and David Lloyd centres and the like. As long as it adheres to the NVQ etc guidlines I think any of the companies selling these certs will be ok, you may even find a course down at your local adult education centre. A friend who teaches at the local gym and one of her majesties insitutions tells me that legaly speaking you dont need any qualification in order to teach fitness as he has none. Incidently I have never worked in the fitness industry since doing the course infact I now work in IT... Good luck
