    Distal bicep rupture

I guess November was the month for bicep ruptures. I experienced a distal bicep rupture last Thursday. I had my surgery this past Tuesday. Everything is going OK so far.
I tore mine trying top move a loveseat. Imagine that. My surgeon used a different method than the endo button. He used a two incision method and steel sutures to secure the tendon back to the radius. Anyone familiar with that method?
Has anyone experienced a tear like this? If so, how was your recovery, and are you back 95-100%? Thanks....

I had a partial tear on the proximal tendon of my right arm from baseball. It was a long recovery, but I had rotator tears and lots of other stuff. Go luck to you man. Just dont try to be a heroe and get back to fast like I tried to do and get hurt again.

Thanks. I plan on following Doctor's orders the best I can. I'm a Firefighter and I depend on my strength a lot, so I'm not going to screw it up. This also means that I'm not going to be able to compete in the April BB show here. I may try the Florida at Orlando in September. We'll see how everythimg goes.

rest and take it easy, get back into the lifting slowly and if you have the option to go to PT , go for a little, learn the reahb program, than just do it on your own.

I'm 13 weeks out of the same exact injury, I also had the endo-buttom method done. I'm not the smartest guy when it comes to injuries (haven't had many) so I can't stay out of the gym for long. My arm is coming along but gets sore pretty easy and my for forearm seems to bother me more then my tendon area. I believe the reason for that is cause my forearm is really weak right now. I try do the rubber band exercises 2-3 times a week along with Ice, Vit-C, and Glucosime Sulfate, no weights and no back. This injury isn't the fastest healing and can get frustrating at times. I would say my arm is around 50 to 60% right now. I can do chest, Legs!, limited shoulders, and triceps at this time.

Be sure to use grip exercises. Buy a couple of the hand exercisers, one for the car.
