    I have a "mauser"(pistol), 7.65 caliber, the magesine contain 8 bullits.

My grandfather used this weapen in world war 2, he said he has actually shot and killed german soliders with it.

In my country you yust need to join a gun-club and then you can pretty much obtain any weapen you want.

I have it for protection, lots of criminals around...

If you have a clean record and are over the age of 18(?) you can walk into any gun shop and get one, there is a 2 week grace period where your checked out, but then you can own one, but only semiauto. as far as getting one illegally, I dont know anything about that. im not 100% sure on my numbers, but thats the general idea
but I also have no favors one way or the other. I dont own one, and probaly never will

guns are fairly easy to get here. You have to do a backround check and there is usually a 7 day waiting period so if your pissed at your wife for cheating on you . You have time to cool down and not kill someone. Convicted felons are not allowed to own a firearm, if they get caught its like a 20 year sentence in some states. If your a criminal guns are a dime a dozen. Mostly they are stolen and are registered to someone else. A gun with no numbers is a little more expensive but not by much. If you have the proper licenses you can even get 50. cal sniper rifles or automatic weapons. Some guns shows I have been to actually have antiquie WWII machine guns. There is a Huge machine gun show in Kentucky were they have all these guys line up at night in a field and shot up old cars with machine guns with tracer rounds. They even bring in a helo with a mini-gun on it. But these are not the norm obviously. The laws also vary from state to state very drastically. The state Im from have very lacks gun laws and I could go get a hand-gun right now buy it registar it with the FBI and be out the door in 3-7 days. Most states have a longer waiting period though. Usually the time to get it is limited to how long it takes for the registration process to take effect.

I have actually shot my dad's friends vietnam era M-16, (he is a vet) which is fully auto. It feels like a 22 when you shoot it. Not loud or have very much kick. But I mostly use shotguns, im big in to bird hunting like most people from here.

I not saying it's not true, but the army never releases selective fire weapons for personal sale. Also .223" remington or 5.56mm nato as it is called is vveeerrryyy loud, has a loud crack to it. The army has a very strict policy on "war tropies" and sure would not let him own his service weapon as it stays in the armory.

"IF" his story is true, the owner is illegally owning that weapon and faces federal charges:10 years in federal pen. Also, I had family members serve in vietnam and they logged every weapon in at the end of each day or end of each mission. The army is alot of things, but they aren't stupid. Also, I bet the grenades are "de-milled", if not they are very dangerous and possibly unstable. Ps de milled grenades were sold as "tourist" gifts

I own a couple pistols and several shotguns. I was under the impression that the seven day waiting period is no longer in effect since the Brady Bill expired, but I could be wrong here. The waiting period only applied to certain types of guns.

Basically, in the US, you can go to your atm in the morning and have a legal gun in your hands by the end of the day.

i'm a texan...own a few. I can go to walmart right now and by one :P No waiting period and because I have a CHL they don't even have to call in my paper work. But having a CHL means i'm better than average in terms of clean record so they don't have to check. If there's a gun show you can do a person to person private sale with no paperwork, just an ID check. Gun registration is not required in this state like some of the other communist states.

As far as buy one illegally...criminals will always be able to get guns illegally. So it's hard to really say how "easy" it is.

As far as most powerful...well what do you mean by power? Do you mean dirty hairy, packs a kick powerful? you can get a .50 cal pistol like a desert eagle or a .50 cal rifle like barret rifles. Those are pretty much the most powerful a civilian can own.

in terms of powerful as in effectiveness....40 cals are pretty mcuh standard calibur now days. .45's are a lil too slow of a round with too much recoil so most tactical shooters don't bother with them. In terms of tactical rifles , I'd say ar 10 / 15 are still pretty popular. Those are the civilian guns that are based off of the m16. I personally am a fan with the AK-47 Variants (re-productions of the old ak-47's manafactured a long time ago).

Cost varies... you can go anywhere from 100 dolars for a cheap pos to 25k for some nice automatic tactical rifles (if you have a gun dealers licence or you are a law enforcer you can own automatic rifles).

calling bs on em ...military doesn't work like that. They don't send troops home with weapons...weapons stay in armories. They havne't allowed any of that stuff for a while after the ak-47 flood from past wars.

Oh and the m-16 from back in nam was pretty light for the time so it would NOT feel like a .22 and it also didnt' have a very good discharge design so it was VERY loud.

If I wanted to get an automatic assault rifle I could but I have a clean record so I'd rather just stay legal. I own a 12G Winchester 1300 Defender Shotgun. The reason I got it is because it has a shorter barrel as it is a defense model but it also has 8-round capacity and there are many accesories made for Law Enforcement that I can add to it.

I know lots of vets that still have thier rifles he may have modified it too hes a gun collector. My Grandfather's brother has a luger he took off a dead nazi SS officer. The round isnt as loud a shotgun I dont think thats what I mainly shot so it may be loud I dont know.

omg, I could go on for hours turret presses, electric pact powder measure (coolest thing ever for an experimenter like me, you just punch in the charge weight on a keypad and it does it for you, tumblers, case trimmers, huge bullet caster fan, lube presses, etc. I chronograph alot too they still look at me weird at the range when I mount the chrony

Yeah ever since I got a chrony, people look at it with awe whichs bogels my mind that they would spend thousands on guns but not $100 or less to see if their loads are safe. The pact measure is easy to use, you just type in what load weight you want in grains, hit dispense and it does it for you, saves me hours I just mount the chrony on a tripod and shoot through the grid lets you work up a safe load

I compare loads in a few different manuals and then chronograph them to see if they are safe ( I will give an example, if you are shooting a .30-06 with a 150 grain bullet and it reads 3000fps or more, you know it is producing way too much pressure)
