I dunno Bro ... If Tyson hadn't gotten side-tracked in his career with so many stupid things he may have gone down as the greatest fighter ever. When he was 9 he beat the crap out of a teen age gang member who stole something from him. When he was 12 he weighed 190 lbs. When he was 13 he got sent away and a heavyweight fighter named Bobby Stewart started teaching Tyson how to fight. This guy introduced Tyson to Cus d'Amato when he was 13 and sparred with him and Tyson beat the crap out of the heavywieght. When he was 14 he was benching 220lbs. One tough wicked dude, even at a young age. What a waste.Originally Posted by bor
I love to see his vids, beacuse Iove the was he swings from on side to another at all times and out soooooooo much of his body into all of his punches...Originally Posted by ecivon

when u spar u have to go against someone WAY better or way worse.. otherwise u get that COMPETITION thing going and it always gets outta hand! ><
u use headgear? i f'n hate that shit.. punches that would normally MISS YOU snag that shitty headgear and give ya pimpin whiplash!
I used to really like to watch Tyson fight. He was an animal; guys were so freakin' afraid of him. I remember when he fought Bonecrusher Smith, Smith was so afraid he ran from Tyson in the ring and fell down before he even got hit. Michael Spinks was stuttering when they were interviewing him right before the fight, he was really scared too. He was a nervous wreck. I was travelling when I heard Buster Douglas knocked him out -- shocked the crap out of me. But then I guess Tyson got even and beat up Douglas in a fight on the street. Go figure. The guy had a bad messed up head.Originally Posted by bor
ah man...i got rocked a few times today...first was right in the left eye...then i got another one from another person square in the nose...bleed a lil...its all good cause i got a few real good punches in and one that made me real proud...right uppercut right on the jaw..best feeling is when u anticipate a punch, dodge it and rock the dude..
no worries man... happens to the best of us. Nothing worse than getting owned...but you can't learn if you don't **** up.
ouch!
damn man, at least you can take a punch! due to my 40930 concussions i got in football, after a bad sneeze i get a migraine!
keep it up bro

He has longer arms?
*Get inside his reach and go to work.
If he tries to push you away with his hands, he may look down at you or to the side when doing this.
*Uppercut him.

yea, you gotta get inside. You wanna control the fight. Staying back leaves him in control. Like tia mentioned, and depending on how long the fight work the kidneys. If not, jaw him for the KO.
i work better from stayin out more...when i throw my left jab i give a lil lunge and twist my right shoulder back a lil more, hard to explain... this creates more angle so he cant get a straight jab on me and i can gain a few more inches on my reach..also the slight lunge make me a lil quicker then if i was just using my arm..
also get those combo's in...dont just keep throwin one punch here and there..my prob in the beginnin is that i throw one sometimes two punches and then go straight to defense...meanwhile the guy i was boxin would just cover up, him doin this would let me just unload combos and really be able to pick the most vunerable spot...
also really learn each persons style...when i spar after the second round i can really tell how this person will react to every move i make...and i can telegraph what he's goin to do because he repeats his tell tale things...some people have little habits before they throw that power punch...i like to learn that, roll under and come with a nice left hook..these are a few things that i've picked up...to lazy to write more..off to bed soon..
Learn good foot work and work on it alot, it doesnt take a man to stand and brawl. Use the jab(a good jab not lazy), shadow box and envision who you are boxing is he tall and lanky or short and stalky, quick and elusive or always moving forward. Also don't get into the habit of backing up learn lateral movement.
