I agree. It's CHRISTmas. But I hate how the malls are so crowded and it takes FOREVER to find a damn parking spot, and if you valet, their slow as snails getting your car back to you. It's like HELLO F*R, I have my bags full of sh!t how about you kick it up a notch?

Hmmm. What I wonder is will you laugh or cry at their funerals one day?

When everything that you possess and love turns it's back on you one day, it'll be nice to know that you have family members that love and care for you unconditionally.

    Neither.

You cry for those you care about.

Professing to 'care' simply because of the generic attachment called 'family' which connects you to an individual.. is hypocrisy.

I hold those in my immediate family circle close to me.

Those however who only choose to inquire about the rest of the family when it's christmas time and there's the opportunity for free food can take a flying leap.

    They're strangers.. not family.

What i hate 2ndly about christmas is not having all the cash i'd like to treat the people close to me.

Like my mum... i'd like to repair her house etc.

It's not about how much you spend. It's about how you show thanks and your love for that person.

I feel that Christmas has lost its meaning in that we too often feel burdened to give gifts, rather than giving gifts from the heart. According to my wife, if she/we know you and you have a heartbeat, then you're eligible for a gift.

    ^^ i don't buy into that one.

Christmas is the same to me as it was in the beginning.

    Christ; Church; Family

Honestly our tradition is church at 5 a.m. .. a walk in the national park about 7 a.m. Home for family lunch... and spending the rest of the day together.

I'm not sure how it works in America.. but the sitcoms/news reports are pretty amusing.

    2. radio stations playing christmas music starting november 1st

    6. having to stack wood in the damn snow
    7. customers coming in the day before christmas and asking "is this all you have left for christmas trees?"
    8. having to drill stand-strait holes in the bottom of 10.5 foot frasier that weighs a ton and a half

I meant that it has lost its meaning in that too many people feel that the nucleus of Christmas is exchanging gifts.

Tradition has waned in recent years tho.

"Family" as alluded to above stopped congregating.. leaving just my immediate family circle to hang out together.

Other than church there isn't much more.

I've got the keys to the gym so my fiancee and I will probably be there training after church.

It's hard to sometimes decipher how one interprets what one says through writing. That's why I never communicate with my wife via e-mail!

I hate dealing with all the schmucks when you have to go to the malls. Or the people that don't know how to walk once inside. They seem to find it o.k. if they are in front of you when your walking and they just stop. I'm like wtf are you doing?

Im a fan of christmas i like the holidays, I agree that christmas is more about the presents these days and less about the traditions, which is sad. But I hate the traffic i am too easily ticked off with traffic and the holidays dont help much.

I dont know..families getting together and exchanging thoughtful gifts. Doesnt sound like such a bad thing. I think at the heart of it its pretty good. I really dont care if my next door neighbor is celebrating the birth of Jesus, we are

So, my #2 complaint? People are too cynical about Christmas

I honestly hate getting bad gifts. I dont even care if I get gifts in the first place. Everyone tells me they never know what to get me because I do not hint or ask at all. I really dont care if people get me anything because I know I am fairly picky and well really I just dont think anyone needs to get me aything.
That being said, i honestly sometimes dread opening a gift because you know someone is so exciting because they pickd it out just for you and they think you will like it so much but you dont. Makes me feel bad, my ex gf was the worst EVER, I was absolutely terrified of opening her gifts because I couldnt even bring myself to fake a smile anymore.

That no one can afford to give me an HD Tivo, PS3 and 46"XBR3 as a gift. I mean come on, they had all year to save up $5,000-$6,000. I don't see what the problem is.

masses of pity invitations from friends to spend Christmas day with them. and the horrified looks and countless expressions of "but you can't spend Christmas day alone!!". I don't live in the same country as my family and its not a big deal to me.

Yeah it'd be great if it were about thoughtful gifts and exchanging love and happiness amongst close friends and family.

But as time goes on xmas becomes just a money crazed farce!!

I'm not old fashioned, but xmas should be taken back to the 50's/60's or even further back, when everything was appreciated. If not I say scrap it, society has too much greed!!
