    Damn Wrist Injury

yeah i just injured my right wrist 3 wks ago. the funny thing is that i did not feel it(injury) during my workout, i felt it hours later on in the evening. i believe it is my tendon cause i get this sharp pain when i rotate my wrist. i actually worked out the following week after the injury had occured, hoping that it would just go away. i have been reading on this forum, so i took off from the gym (resting) till the new year. should i take glucosamine eventhough it is not a joint pain? i have had experience with joint trouble in the past in elbows and wrist. should i take anti inflammatories? and in the new year what rehab or prehab exercises can i do to strengthen it. i have harbinger wrist straps, i read that they should be titan or inzer. well any advice will be very helpful, not going to hit the gym for another 2 wks anyways.

Glucosamine, only works over long term,,,(ie months, years). And thats for joint pain. How did u injure ur wrist? I broke my hand a while back and my wrist was hurtin alot while working out. I usually taped my wrist up, with sports tape and did exercises where there is pressure on the wrist, such as bench press. That sports tape helped big time. You just need to wrap it around once or twice as long as its not too tight that it cuts of circulation.

Several exercises are,, rotating wrist many times,, (palms down to palms up)
Doing the motorcyle throttle motion. And eventually use like 5 lbs to do wrist curls. If cant do it with weight do, without weight.

i believe it was during my chest workout, but to be totally honest w/ you i don't know. like i said it is funny, i didnt even feel it in the gym the week after the injury had occured. i only feel it at home and when not training, i have a two year old daughter and feel it when i have to pick her up or just closing the sliding glass door to my place, etc. its just when i rotate it and put some kind of resistance or pressure on it. i bought a wrist brace for support at home

    going through the same thing

The lateral side of my right wrist hurts bad when I wake up and only the day after I lift haven'tdone barbell curls or pull ups or bent over rows because that when I feel the most tension I believe I injured it on a heavy dumbell workout just trying to work around it but its not working I am in mid cycle and I may just have to take 30 days off its been going on for about 7 weeks now

I would recommend going to the doctor and getting it checked out. I injured my wrists about two years ago from bench pressing, and I thought it was a relatively minor injury. I had the same symptoms as you and I continued to lift using tape and wraps. After about three months, I finally decided to go to the doctor because the pain was unbearable, even when lifting a pen. Turned out I had tiny hairline fractures on both of my wrists.

I ended up taking over a year and a half off to rehab and recover. Theres nothing worse then a wrist injury, it left me feeling disabled because I was unable to do just about anything.

After getting it checked, go get some kick ass wrist wraps from INZER or an equivalent. Not those wussy ones I am talking about ones that wrap around like 4x and feel very uncomfortable till you get used to them.
I have bad wrists from lifting and my work. Since these wraps I have absolutely no problems.
Go ask a powerlifter ( Doc Sust ) about INZER wraps for your wrist or similar products. I am sure they will have the answer.
