I finaly got around to reading it.

Quite interesting. I have heard about the singularity ideas before. If I could choose we humans would never develop AI. But rather just work on cybernetics that can make us smarter.

I dont know anything about AI's but I have never heard anything that even suggest we can do a artificial intelligence with the intelligence of a primitive animal. I think there is a long way to go until we have something as good as human intelligence. Processing power doesnt seem to be the limiting factor.
