    Question fast lean lunch ideas

Okay, I don't usually have much time for lunch so what are some suggestions on good things to eat for lunch while I'm trying to lean down? I usually eat two lean pockets cause I can microwavem and woof em down real fast. I don't have time to make salads or anything that takes preparation the night before or something. I work alot of hours, and go to the gym when I'm not at work. Maybe some type of meal replacement shake or something. I've tried slimfast in the past also. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Lean pockets are horrible! Making a salad takes less time than heating up a lean pocket. Try to take one day a week and make a bunch of chicken breasts and brown rice so when you are in a hurry you can always fall back on it.

I do like sandwiches, but I always want to eat two. One just doesn't do it for me. How do you make oats in a shake. Is it a special type of oats or just the regular ones in a can?

    oats in a can?.
make one big sandwiche, use whole wheat bread, maybe a sub.
or just pack it really thick.
or next time you cook, make a bit more and put in a box and take it with you.

so if I eat like two whole, boneless chicken breasts a day at lunch, with some brown rice, is that going to be too much? The sandwiches I can do like donnie said, and what about eating like three cans of tuna at once, by themselves, for one day's lunch. Is that too much for a single lunch?

    work it out nutritional wise.
anyway, if you do find it to much then split it in two. youll find that most people dont go by breakfast / lunch / dinner. but by meal 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6

I've heard many say cook a few batches of chicken and eat them later.
How do you guys store the chicken and eat it later without them spoiling? Is it frozen and reheated?

I cook the chicken and store it in my fridge...

If Im going to school or work i have a thermos/cooler box and store my food in there...

You can also cook one huge batch for say a month freeze 4 weeks worth.. and every week defrost one packet for that week... (once u defrost it dont re-freeze it though)

I use the turkey sandwich idea. Do you have a fridge at work? At all times in our break room I have a pound of turkey, almonds, and maybe some protein pudding. The sandwich and nuts would probably be the best option for you. A turkey sandwich with 6-8 oz turkey on whole wheat bread with some hot sauce, doesnt get much better than that.

Yeah I think I'm gonna do some chicken breasts and cook the all on Sunday or something, then alternate between that and tuna and turkey sandwiches. What about ham? And where do you find protien pudding Ecto?

Its rough for me too, I go to college still and work part time on an ambulance.

Its hard to get good food while working on an ambulance. best is to pack a lunch. I usually just bring a couple protein shakes. but as soon as I start my enxt cycle I'll be bringing precooked chicken breast and cottage cheese.

    chicken breast rocks.

when you make a shake out of the oats, can I just mix it with skim milk? I could throw a little bit of Splenda in it to sweeten it. Splenda is made for diabetics and doesn't get absorbed by the body.

i use a food processor to grind the oats up real fine. you can mix with skim but i prefer water with whey. and yeah, if you want throw the splenda in, it's not hurting anything.

Me too. If you process the oats down to powder they mix well and do not chunk up in your cup.

Cottage cheese is good at night before bed because it has Casien Protien, slow digesting so your body doesnt use it all right away then you have nothing for 8 hours while you sleep, Try to get 1% Mine is 1/2 cup, 90 Calories 1gFat .5 saturated. 4g Carbs 3g sugar, kinda sucks but ohwell, 13gs protein! I eat 1 cup of that along with 2tbs pnutbutter before bed

Are we talking about plain boiled chicken with no dressing? Or can we freeze just any cooked chicken and defrost later? Will the storage retain the protein, in the freezer as well as the thermos when going to work?
