Sachets - clarify on how to filter please

Ok, so i am getting the satchets, I have a several 20 ml syringes with 18g needles and I am going to use a .2um whatman to filter.
I withdraw from satchet with syringe, change needle, poke into the sterile 20ml vial and shoot. correct?
how do I put the whatman filter on the syringe? take the needle off then pull out the stock filter and replace with whatman and put the needle back on?
    does all this sound correct?

Stock filter? didnt know there was a stock filter... anyways heres how Id do it. Draw the gear out of the sachet into the syringe then remove the needle and attatch the whatman and replace the needle back on the other end of the whatman. Stick another needle in the vial to allow displaced air to escape, then stick the needle (with filter) into the vial and fill it up.

Here is a usefull thread with a mechanised way of doing it with pics

I thought the sachets were all ready sterile...So what would be the point of running the ingredience thru a filter....Why not just insert a pin in the sachet and leasve it there and place another pin in a vial...using a syringe only with draw from the sachet, undue the syringe, conect to the other pin in the vial and inject.

I leave a 21 gauge pin in my vial at all times in keep the vial in a plastic baggie. I take a new needle and syringe 25 guage, remove the needle and connect the syringe to the needle in the vial...I withdraw and then remove the syringe from the 21 gauge needle and replace with the 25 and shoot...Been doing this for yrs with no problem

They are supposed to be sterile but i can tell you from first hand experience and with extensive reading since, FILTER it and move on.
