    Breakfest For Morning Lifts

    This semister I only have time ot lift first thing in the morning at 8 a.m. Sowat should i have for breakfest? i used to et like 10 egg white and then make a cup of oats with whey prtoen and milk. I don't want to eat this much before i go hit up the gym and was wondering what is a good pre workout mealfirst thing in te morning. I figure after the work out i can just use a regular diet.
    would just a whey protien shake be ok with some oats in it??

    I would say you definently want to get your carbs in, especially if you are gonna eat and then go to the gym. 1/2 to 3/4 cup oatmeal before hand with a protein shake...

    For info, I personally find milk makes me feel sick pre-workout. I try and avoid dairy.

    Egg whites and oats are good.

    Same. I usually just go with some plain ol oats and a protein shake.

    yea, the sugar in milk (lactose) is digested very slowly so it wouldnt be a very good choice right before your workout.

    I train at 5 a.m.

    I wake @ 4:30.. have a shake consisting of whey + dex... I take my b-complex vits and head to the gym.

    Training is 45 mins-1 hr

    @6:15/6:30 I repeat this...and @ around 7 i have a full meal.

    I space my carb meals tru-out the day to replenish glycogen so i'm pretty much topped up first thing in the a.m. for training.
