So anyone know whats best between Clif and Odwalla bars? Clif has more vitamins/fiber/protein, while Odwalla has less nutrional stuff but it uses oats instead of a bunch of soy and supposedly has a lot of random healthy stuff (antioxidants). On amazon you can get 48 of any bar for 34 bucks shipped (70 cents each)

It shouldn't matter if you live in a dorm or not...we have many members who are in school or live at school...

    You have a microwave right?

You can steam veggies, cook rice, cook eggs you can also buy a girr...

    Now your protein bar question...

Eggs only come in cartons of 12, much too big for our tiny fridge. Like I said I eat veggies in my dorm, and I get eggs on my salad from the residence hall restaurant. But how exactly do you steam veggies in a microwave? that sounds good...

And by girr do you mean grill? Cus yeah my roomate has a foreman that he never uses, I bet hed let me use it. But again, frozen chicken breasts from the local safeway come in HUGE bags that definitely couldnt fit in the fridge, any ideas?

Oh and how exactly do you cook rice in the microwave, Im guessing it starts with an uncooked box of brown rice from the grocery store...

Im not really into the bars for the protein, mainly the carbs. Are they bad carbs or something?

Buy egg whites they come in a carton like a 500ml carton of milk....

Steaming veggies is easy add a cup of veggies 15ml of water and put it in for 2-4 min...

Buy the chicken use your friends grill cook enough for a week then store flat in a tupper ware... or if space is really an issue TUNA in a can or chicken in can...

You can buy istnat brown rice from uncle bens or ONE HUge bag of brown rice...

    Steps

Select a deep microwave dish with a cover.
The ratio is what's important...for 1/2 cup of rice, add one cup of cold water; for 1 cup of rice, add two cups of cold water...you get the idea.
Cover, and place in the microwave at max (ie 900W) for 12 minutes without disturbing.
Remove from microwave and let stand a few minutes before fluffing with a fork.
You can add salt before cooking if you wish, or cook the rice in chicken or other stock instead of water.
    Never fails!

Yeah youre right screw the bar, oatmeals cheaper anyways, and tastes great when you get that quaker weight control stuff (1g sugar).

Thanks for how to cook rice...hope my cheap microwave wont explode from going that long. Do you put any flavor on yours?

Another thing Ive been doing is microwaving wheat tortillas with beans in them (no cheese), is that a good idea?
