    Deadlifts

I have gloves but haven't used them yet .... but when I do dead lifts over 225, the bar rips my hands to crap .... what are your thoughts on gloves? Will they hurt other body parts from growing or can I use them so I can get more weight? Thanks

Use wrist wraps, eventually the weight will be too heavy to hold on too.
You have to use an over-hand/under-hand grip as well.

Sponges work. I use gloves when I bench just for the wrist wrap. Straps are good.

I tout these hooks like they were a wonder drug. If you have any kind of grip issues, hooks can be invaluable in my opinion. Also prevents you from tearing your hands up like gloves.

grip might be really important if your a strongman competitor or a powerlifter, but if your a body builder and not competing if your grip isnt insane its fine, your goal is size anyway correct? I use straps on all my deadlifts wouldnt want to hinder your gains because you cant hold the weight even though you can lift it.

I didn't use wraps for the first few years of lifting and it helped develop my forearms quite a bit. Ppl ask me what I do for them and the answer is nothing. So there are Pros and Cons of using wraps and belts for support.

thanks for the other info guys ... I think when it starts to hinder me from lifting more I'll try straps .... I can hold the weight for now .... just tears the skin right off my hands everytime.

Just get used to it I guess.

Either wear gloves and straps and save your hands..

or no gloves with chalk and devolope your forearms and tear your hands up. I prefer this one.
