from what I have read, 12 weeks is optimal.... after that the gains begin to stagnate....

for me and others I know, there is no differenc in the gains between a 10 week and 12 week cycle that you stated. the difference is in the off time. this is assuming that you take time off that you had on. my advice, when your gains start to level off, discontinue use.
All my runs are 6 to 7 weeks long.

so your gains level off at 6-7 weeks? yeah, ive been seeing this more often lately, this whole short cycle debate, and i'm not writing it off, but i think it ill-advised to say it works any better than the traditional cycle plan (not accusing you of saying that btw)...still, proper pct and adherence to strict diet and training, MOST of us can make gains beyond 6 weeks, and maintain a good part of them until it's time for the next run...

I'm not saying you wont make gains after 6 weeks, they just arnt the gains you make in the first 6 weeks. example, the gains I make between week 4 and 5 are mountainess between the gains I made between weeks 9 and 10 of my old cycles. yes you will make gains, but you'll do better in the long run w/ short runs becasue you dont need to stay off as long.

I'd run it until you run out of juice...10wks, 12wks, 16wks, 20wks. OR until you stop seeing results from saturated receptors, but you can always add another compound to push past that point to get a little more size, depends how serious and are about getting big. But that's me, i know how i react to compounds and recovery. Depends on how well you recover also. But I'd say no less than 12. Besides, by week 10 you'll still want to keep going anyway. 2 weeks can make a big diff. It's hard to not want to keep growing.

people I know who have run long cycles have had serious problems w/ libido. everyone wants to get it all done in one cycle. when you think about it long term, short runs are better. your gains are best in the short run and you dont have to stay off as long.
bottom line, if you have only 12 weeks to live, a 12 week cycle is your best choice. If not, plan long term

    Depends on the individual.

I suggest running it for 10 weeks, and if you feel like running it an aditional 2 weeks, then go ahead.

See how your body reacts. Some people notice increased sides past the 9-10 week mark.

b/c of the enan or cypionate ester, you dont reach maximal plasma levels until week 6 or 7, correct? So wouldnt it make sense to run at max test levels for at least a couple of weeks?

cfiler said it best. depends on the individual. some react faster than others. If you are only running long esters I think 10 weeks is ideal but its really up to how you react

the reason for this is because your body gets used to things such as your diet and training. IMO once you feel that gains are slowing down, appropriate changes in ones diet and training need to be made in order to spurt more growth.

Go 12wks, gradually increasing dosage, I use to start with 200mg and work up to 400 in wk2 then 600wk3 and 800wk4 then hold steady there untill I began to taper off toward the end.

people you know that want to get it done in one cycle are obviously not ready for any kind of AAS, and deff should consider an alternate way of gaining muscle mass w/o using AAS.

You dont have to stay off as long, true. But you will be running more cycles in a course of a year if you follow the time on=time off. If one were to run a 6 weeker, 6 weeks off and then run another 6 weeker, 6 weeks off, then run another. If you follow this method, your actually running way more cycles than you need and thus libido or other AAS related side effects could arise, because of too much cycling.

so what would be better for your libido (in the long run), saying on for 24 weeks or doing 2 six weeks runs w/ proper time off.

Where did the staying on for 24 weeks come from

I dont think your being as fair as possible bro. I was referring to doing a 12 week cycle with proper time off which would be 12 weeks and starting again.

I never stated anything about running a 24 week straight cycle w/o any time off.

Say if you do a 12 week cycle, proper time off would be 12 weeks.

Thats a total of 24 weeks and you have ran 1 cycle.

Doing a short 6 week cycle and doing proper time off which would be another 6 weeks right.

In the same amount of time 24 weeks, you would have ran 1 cycle (long cycle method), compared to running 2 cycles (short cycle method).

IMO there are alot of bros who are starting to use the short cycle method, because they see that you dont have to stay off as long compared to a longer cycle. Running a short 6 weeker, 6 weeks off, then on again, and i believe this is the only reason alot of bros now run them.

However i do believe short cycles have a place, but it takes a very experienced and knowledgable user to properly carry out such a cycle, and get optimal results from it. There are many aspects to consider, and one must know ones body very well to get optimal results.

Some how the extra 2 weeks after 10 weeks makes a big difference for me. Don't know how it would work for you though. I now make sure my cycles are 12 weeks minimum.

I found that 16 weeks is best for me atleast, I continued to make progress and now that I have been off for just over 2 months I have retained atleast 99% of my weight and strenth. I have always been a 12 week guy but now 16 is the only way to run!
